If you paid attention, you’d understand that we agreed with Dean Baker’s support of tRump’s criticism of the Fed’s recent rate hikes. tRump was right to criticize the Fed! (But wrong in his method). Since inflation is low, the Fed could allow the economy to percolate and maybe even see wage increases. But the Fed is beholden to the wealthy and eliminates working class jobs (and wage hikes) at even the whiff the inflation that wealthy money hoarders hate). Just one more way the system is rigged against the working classes.
The economy has not “taken off”, it’s continuing the surge that started 8 years ago after the Great Recession. It’s as if the economy was coming out of its own Little Ice Age.
Do you have evidence (per Mango) that the economy sees a drastic drop in home sales every September (this drop is now many months old, not just Sept). (Hint: It doesn’t drop every September). Why has it dropped so much THIS September, now 13% below last September?

Economic numbers are meaningless this late in an election. Housing falling in September.
Why?
Now, sales usually drop off a bit in September after the frenzied summer months.
Part of the reason for the decline is prices. While the rate of price increases is beginning to slow, prices aren’t coming down in most parts of country, at least not yet. The median price of an existing home rose to $258,100 in September—the 79th straight month of annual increases. That’s up 4.2% from September 2017. And the cost of becoming a homeowner or trading up is simply too high for many would-be buyers.
At the same time, mortgage interest rates have also been on the rise, which makes purchasing a home even more expensive. They climbed to 4.72% at the end of September—up from 3.83% a year earlier. And Hurricane Florence also delayed sales in the South.
On the subject of housing sales. Home sales begin to contract in earnest in September. Existing home sales fall by an average of 16% from August, and then fall by another 10% in November.
