Bummer: Trump Amps Up Immigration Fight For Midterms

How dare President Trump attempt to enforce federal law and protect the sovereignty as dictated by the U.S. Constitution!

Trump amps up immigration fight for midterms

President Trump is stepping up attacks on some of his favorite targets — immigrants, Mexico and Democrats — amid reports that a “caravan” of Honduran migrants is headed to the U.S. border.

With the midterms less than three weeks away, the president is demonizing the band of approximately 4,000 Central Americans as a direct threat to public safety and U.S. national security, amplifying a law-and-order message that helped propel him to the White House.

“I am watching the Democrat Party led (because they want Open Borders and existing weak laws) assault on our country by Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, whose leaders are doing little to stop this large flow of people, INCLUDING MANY CRIMINALS, from entering Mexico to U.S.,” Trump tweeted on Thursday.

The message appears timed both to energize the Republican base ahead of the Nov. 6 elections and shift the political dialogue away from a series of controversies dogging the White House heading into Election Day, not least Trump’s defense of Saudi Arabia amid growing evidence the kingdom’s leaders are behind the disappearance, and apparent murder, of a Saudi columnist for the Washington Post.

Immigration experts, advocates and political operatives widely view Trump’s latest attacks as a messaging tactic designed to rally conservative voters to the polls, as Republicans are scrambling to protect majorities in the House and Senate.

Can you imagine a politicians doing this? Shocking! But, Trump actually means what he says, and attempts to do something about it, not just talk about it. And he’s managed to get Mexico to send hundreds of riot police to the Mexica-Guatemala border for that caravan of low skill, low wage people who would immediately be sucking up safety net resources that would be better off going to actual U.S. citizens.

(Canada Free Press) In a startling revelation, Guatemala’s president announced in the country’s largest newspaper that nearly 100 ISIS terrorists have been apprehended in the impoverished Central American nation. Why should Americans care about this?

A caravan of Central American migrants is making its way north. Let’s not forget that Guatemala is one of the countries that bombarded the U.S. with illegal immigrant minors under Barack Obama’s open border free-for-all. They came in droves from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Mexican border and for years Uncle Sam rolled out the welcome mat offering housing, food, medical treatment and a free education.

A terrorist could have easily slipped in considering the minors, coined Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC), were not properly vetted and some turned out to be violent gangbangers who went on to commit heinous crimes in their adopted land of opportunity. In fact, the nation’s most violent street gang, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), was energized by the barrage of UACs.

Huh.

Like the Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, public education, food assistance that the NuGOP opposes and plans to eliminate?

An aside – Where is FEMA in FL and GA following hurricane Michael?? It’s almost as if the administration wants to slow walk it until after the mid-terms. Poor people without a place to live are certainly less likely to vote!

Doing their job providing relief and recovery aid.
You don’t get out much, do you little fella?

He’s talking about all the welfare to illegals, nitwit.

Poor people without a place to live are certainly less likely to vote!

I’ll bet they still have their IDs and they still know where the polling places are. A place to live has nothing to do with voting. And lots of upper class and middle class people are in the same boat regarding housing.

But the little Commie doesn’t care about them.

LIE. Scaremonger tactic brought out every two years for the last thirty years to SCARE Americans. Not once has the GOP done any of these things. Yes the GOP talks about them but how many votes have come to the floor to eliminate the Department of Education or to eliminate Medicare or Medicaise?

ZERO.. Yes it is true the right would like to overhaul the system but again that is a rallying cry to fear monger voters into being terrified the right will ELIMINATE these programs.

      THE LAST PRESIDENT TO REFORE WELFARE?………..B I L L C L I N T O N. A democrat.

Do not be fooled by this scaremonger tactic. The right has no desire or plans to eliminate Medicare, Medicaide, Welfare or the department of Education. What they do have is a desire to trim their budgets make them more accountable and find the waste fraud and abuse in these systems so YOUR TAX DOLLARS ARE NOT BEING WASTED ON PEOPLE DRIVING MERCEDES AND LIVING IN A MANSION WHILE COLLECTING WELFARE.

  2. Dana says:

Donald Trump has to be the luckiest man alive; what greater gift could he receive as the midterm elections approach than a ‘caravan’ of unwanted immigrants approaching from the accurately described shithole countries in South America?

Mexico might not pay for the wall, but President Trump’s actions and threats have persuaded Mexico to deploy along its border with Guatemala, to keep the refugees out. Why? Because they know that, unlike his spineless predecessor, President Trump would use force to keep the riff-raff from crossing into the United States, meaning that they’d be sucking up Mexico’s too scarce resources.

  3. Professor hale says:

As I mentioned years ago, this is a dominant issue and only beltway politicians think otherwise. Trump won because he was the only one talking about it without using the word amnesty. Even the democrats are starting to see it, hence their instructions for candidates to not talk about their positions.

    • Mangoldielocks says:

ITS why the left was told to stop talking about immigration until after the election. Hopefully to prevent the STUPID VOTER from remembering how much they want millions of poor new voters giving them power to turn America into the SHITHOLE the left wants.

Drive downtown LA guys. Right now a TYPUS Epidemic is sweeping through southern CA. Polio like symptoms are showing up all over the country again. Where does anyone with their head not up their policital ass think this is coming from. This is third world diseases that were irradicated in the United States a long time ago.

Downtown LA looks like TIJUANA. Tents set up everywhere. People have new jobs now. SHIT PATROL in California. They pay people to pick up human feces on the sidewalks of AMERICA.

LET ME REPEAT THAT…THEY PAY PEOPLE TO PICK UP SHIT ON THE STREETS OF AN AMERICAN STATE.

This is why the left was told to stop talking about Immigration till after the midterms. There is a concerted effort by half the nations on the planet and probably half the billionaires to destroy America. Bring her down. Because most of the rest of the world cannot compete with the USA unless she is the next great USSR in ruins.

A vote for a Democrat is a vote for the destruction of A healthy and wealthy USA. Literally.

      • Jethro says:

A vote for a Republican is a vote for the destruction of America. Literally.

The GOP, feeling empowered with an activist PT Barnum president, the White House, SCOTUS, House, Senate, and many statehouses with active voter suppression (thanks to SCOTUS), now openly pledge to eliminate Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, existing medical condition protections, SNAP, housing assistance… all to fund defense contractors and to cut taxes on the wealthy and corporations. It’s a plutocrat’s paradise.

And the GOP is betting there are no longer enough engaged voters to challenge their hegemony.

Dear 1%ers, many of our fellow citizens are starting to believe that capitalism itself is the problem. I disagree, and I’m sure you do too. Capitalism, when well managed, is the greatest social technology ever invented to create prosperity in human societies. But capitalism left unchecked tends toward concentration and collapse. It can be managed either to benefit the few in the near term or the many in the long term. The work of democracies is to bend it to the latter. That is why investments in the middle class work. And tax breaks for rich people like us don’t. Balancing the power of workers and billionaires by raising the minimum wage isn’t bad for capitalism. It’s an indispensable tool smart capitalists use to make capitalism stable and sustainable.

We need to figure a way to lift the working classes who have fallen further and further behind. The GOP have no plans to help.

YEAH I can see how the GOP who has owned most of the state legislatures has taken our nation down the tubes.

LOLOLOL. The economy is roaring. Millions of jobs created. GOOD JOBS. Stock Market soaring. Trade deals that favor American workers flourishing. Nations trying to get on board the Trump Train around the world.

Yeah the USA is in real bad shape with the GOP holding most of the states legislatures. Gays are being beaten, tortured and put in ovens. Democrats are being beaten, tortured and put in ovens. Yeah its a real jungle out there now with the Right in charge.

Oh wait that would be the left who is burning down buildings, patrolling streets looking to beat up WOMEN who happened to be journalists. Yeah Its a real jungle out their coming from the party that Solidly supports law and order and INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

YEAH thats right a vote for a Republican means you get a chance to prove your innocence. A vote for a Democrat means you GUILTY just because you dont belong to their Fascist organization.

          Gotcha.

          • Jethro says:

The GOP have no plans to help.

            The economy is roaring.

And yet over half of Americans think the nation is heading in the wrong direction! Probably the same half that realize the GOP plans help the rich. So yes, the economy continues to roar for now, but it’s roaring for me and other corporatists, not for the working classes.

Now the GOP brazenly announces they want to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to enable more tax cuts for rich folks! GOPhers don’t make a lot of political mistakes but Gravedigger McConnell made a bonehead play with this one. “Our debt is the fault of working Americans who paid in to Social Security and Medicare their entire lives!!”

American working classes aren’t as dumb as the GOPher elites believe. The Repubs realize they’ve overplayed their hand and are backpedaling on economic issues such as tax cuts and budget reform and are pushing CARAVANS!! and MOBS!! Politicians in a booming economy that can’t talk about the booming economy. Curiouser and curiouser.

Live by tRump; die by tRump. Your cult has cast its lot.

        • formwiz says:

          Quoting Politico gets you nothing.

We need to figure a way to lift the working classes who have fallen further and further behind. The GOP have no plans to help.

Donald Trump has. It’s called JobsNotMobs.

PS Things must be looking grimmer than I thought for the Lefties.

Little Jeffery is trotting out every Democrat cliche from the past 80 years.

          • Jethro says:

            Hiya Powderpuff,

PT tRump has a new slogan that won’t help anyone! Yay, Don!

And he unveiled it to a conservative MOB as he encouraged violence against the press! Priceless. Con Men must have a mutation in the IRONY gene. Must be all that Neanderthal DNA they carry around in their nuclei.

            Quoting politico… blah blah blah

And yet it’s more reliable than Breitbart, The Daily Caller or the Gateway Pudendum. Funny, that.

Have you thought about actually making your case for destroying the nation? Or are you content with mindless bon mots?

  4. Jethro says:

Senator Harris has even proposed a program similar to conservative economist Milton Friedman’s negative income tax, where working class Americans would be subsidized rather than the wealthy. A plan like this wouldn’t be even a little attractive if the “booming” economy was helping the working classes instead of just guys like me.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/10/lefts-trump-sized-tax-plans/573328/

Voters are not getting less informed with time. Just the opposite is true. The people are not buying what the GOP is selling. Hence, CARAVANS coming for you jobs and your women!! Leftist MOBS attacking hard working decent Republicans!! And especially this is why the GOP is trying to co-opt our democratic voting systems to consolidate their power.

Let me reiterate that last bit. The Republicans are working to solidify their hold on power, NOT by democratic processes, but by buggering our electoral system to their advantage. They don’t want Democrats/the poor/minorities to vote, and are pulling out all stops to accomplish that.

    • Jl says:

Now that’s a good one- we’ll just overlook that if the libs global warming scam “fix” were implemented, those very same poor would be paying more taxes to heat and light their house, drive their cars, ect. So in other words, we’ll give money and then take it away.

    • Dana says:

      Mr Bodine wrote:

Senator Harris has even proposed a program similar to conservative economist Milton Friedman’s negative income tax, where working class Americans would be subsidized rather than the wealthy.

And that is different from welfare how? It’s still taking money from people who earn it to give to people who don’t.

A plan like this wouldn’t be even a little attractive if the “booming” economy was helping the working classes instead of just guys like me.

So, if you are as rich as you say you are, why are you still wealthy? Why haven’t you given your money, so much so that you are reduced to living on the median income, away to those less fortunate than you?

Please, believe me: not one of us here will complain about you putting your money where your mouth is.

      • Jethro says:

Mrs. Delaney wants to take my money from me!! Actually she’s just using a tired ploy – one has to do x to be taken seriously about y. She can’t, or refuses to discuss the message, so attacks the messenger. It’s one of the logical fallacies used to argue.

Her other error is assuming a rigged market somehow distributes compensation fairly. As has been pointed out repeatedly the current expanding gulf between the working classes and the wealthy is not natural but has been engineered – Surprise! – by the wealthy. Nearly all policies reward the wealthy with more of everything. And the policies that help the working classes – Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare et al – are on the NuCon chopping block – to enable MORE rewards for the rich.

Back before conservatives became the Con Men, they actually cared about America and all Americans. Conservatives used to understand that America was only as strong as her working classes. Conservatives used to understand, that in a consumer economy, the wealthy didn’t create jobs with their savings, but the middle class did with their spending. Even the freshwater and libertarian Friedman recognized the folly of having the inevitable underclass from capitalism. It’s a practical consideration.

  5. formwiz says:

    So Harris has a plan.

It’s called welfare. And the economy is doing the job of helping people,. That’s why Trump’s black and Hispanic support is 3/8.

And his last little paragraph is just more projection.

  6. formwiz says:

The “caravan” has been stopped at the Mexican border.

    Trump delivers.

    • Jethro says:

      You should keep up.

Isn’t it just precious that the “caravan” coincides with “tough guy” tRump about to get castrated in the mid-term elections. How corn-veen-yent!

tRump’s first legitimate foreign policy success, and like his hair, his fortune and his marriage, it turns out to be a sham.

The Caravan that was stopped was made by Chrysler.

      • formwiz says:

Funny how the Lefty eunuch talks about castration. As I say, keep up the buttercups, it’s going to be fun having you gone November 7 as you eat all of them.

The powderpuffs will be harder to digest.

And the caravan is your side’s idea. Dumb, but yours. Looks like the Alzheimer’s is finally getting to Dr Evil.

And he unveiled it to a conservative MOB as he encouraged violence against the press!

Rally, if you can read, and even George McGovern once told a reporter to kiss something.

And Politico is a joke to everybody. But, if we’re supposed to respect the media, why doesn’t little Jeffery respect Breitbart, The Daily Caller, or Gateway?

        Because they tell the truth.

  7. Jl says:

Vote for Trump! Jobs instead of mobs.

  8. Mangoldielocks says:

We need to figure a way to lift the working classes who have fallen further and further behind.
The GOP have no plans to help.

LOLOL. The right has a plan. ITS CALLED JOBS. Give someone a good job and stop feeding them a welfare check and checking them into a high rise with no plumbing and call it good.

The GOP has lots of plans to help the poor. The problem is the LEFT’s drug of choice is POVERTY. Trump said hey lets do infrastructure to help the inner cities and provide jobs. The LEFT walked away.

He said you fix DACA. The left walked away.

Under Obama only 29 percent of Americans said the USA was headed in the right direction. Under Trump its in the mid 40’s now and rising.

There is NO free lunch. There are jobs. The right is doing everything we can. Even CNN a couple days ago had to admit that the economy was roaring and right now their are SEVEN POINT ONE MILLION JOB OPENINGS in America. Which means wages have to rise to fill those jobs.

    • Jethro says:

      Mango,

Does the right have a plan to create GOOD jobs, those that pay a living wage? The problem isn’t jobs, it’s GOOD jobs. With each year the gulf between the rich and the poor widens. The rising tide is raising yachts not jon boats.

Just as wages start to creep up the elites (the Fed) raise interest rates to squelch employment removing inflationary pressure. The investor class is protected while the working classes lose jobs. It’s always thus.

The attached graph shows the tRump economic miracle in terms of unemployment rate.

      https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

      • formwiz says:

The Fed is your creation. But the market bounced back. Nobody’s screaming things are going back to the Choom Gang years.

And the good jobs are so plentiful, they’re looking for more people.

But I want to hear little Jeffery define good (or GOOD).

I also want to hear what he’d say if Trump fired the Board of Governors and replaced them with his hand-picked men. Who would keep the rates as low as Janet Yellen did for Zippy.

      • formwiz says:

PS I’d say the graph is measuring unemployment.

  9. formwiz says:

Well, if little Jeffery wants to quote Politico, maybe he’ll like this one.

Politico is hedging their bets on the House. Apparently the Rs are “surging” in some districts they thought were safe D.

Gonna be a rough night, powderpuff.

  10. formwiz says:

And things get even better for those who trust Politico.

They’re saying Mule Ears’ report will be a big disappointment.

    Suck it up, buttercup.
