Of course, they can’t actually get most of their agenda signed into law with Trump in the White House, but, it is very telling as to their ambitions
Dems eye ambitious agenda if House flips
Democratic committee leaders are ready to roll out an ambitious legislative wish list if the House majority flips in next month’s midterm elections.
After eight years in the minority, Democrats have big plans, from shoring up ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank financial rules to protecting “Dreamers†and the integrity of elections.
They are also vowing to aggressively probe the actions of the Trump administration — an oversight role Democrats contend was virtually abandoned by Republicans.
“Basically, a lot of the committees have just been rubber stamps for this administration,†said Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee.
First, Democrats rubber stamped everything Obama wanted while they controlled the House and Senate. Second, they’ll show how unhinged they are with investigations into Trump, and will just help him win in 2020.
Then we have the notion of more and more Big Government, and prioritizing illegal aliens over U.S. citizens. Yet, this same party yammering about integrity of elections is dead set against people having to prove that they are who they say they are and are eligible to vote before casting a vote.
They’re looking at reducing the defense budget while dramatically increasing entitlements. They want to reinstate the Obamacare mandate and increase the size and scope of Ocare.
Democrats on the Financial Services Committee have fought for months to use the panel’s subpoena power to access some of Trump’s financial records. That process would likely launch quickly if the gavel falls to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), the committee’s ranking member and one of Trump’s sharpest critics.
“If there is information that is going to be unveiled about what has been going on in the White House or Donald Trump or the Treasury, it will come out,†Waters told MSNBC last month.
An utter invasion of privacy for political purposes. And they wonder why we call them Fascists.
The whole thing reads as a very far left Big Big Government Trump Derangement Syndrome wishlist.
William Teach: An utter invasion of privacy for political purposes.
There’s more than enough evidence and constitutional authority to access Trump’s financial records. There is evidence he underpaid estate taxes. There is evidence his charity was self-dealing. There is evidence that he and his family are profiting from foreign money. The emoluments clause gives Congress the power to determine how and when the President can accept foreign emoluments, and the tax laws gives Congress the power to investigate misdeeds concerning the President’s reporting of income.
“Evidence”?

formwiz: “Evidence
You could start with this.
Because there isn’t any. Does anyone really believe that in 2016 when Trump won the nomination that an Obama led FBI, SEC, ect., didn’t try and dig up any dirt they could find before the election? Of course they did, and found nothing. Hence, just like magic, “Russian collusionâ€.
