Someone Has Hissy Fit Over Man Walking “Very Deliberately” With Confederate Flag, Calls Cops

Apparently, idiots in this country think this is now a crime

(The American Mirror) Opponents of the Confederate flag will do anything to trample on the rights of supporters of the battle banner.

A “concerned” resident called police on a man walking “very deliberately” down an Arlington, Virginia sidewalk with a hybrid Confederate flag over his shoulder.

The flag had the Gadsden “Don’t Tread On Me” snake in the middle.

According to police scanner traffic, dispatchers determined “the man was exercising his First Amendment rights and not violating the law,” WTOP reports.

Twitter user Wayne Jaing (@WanyeVVest) tweeted a photo to a news outlet of the man walking down Lee Highway “with a purpose.”

As the article points out, taking that photo while driving was most likely a violation of the law. Walking with a flag isn’t.

Teach the days of THAT flag being widely tolerated are numbered. It was the flag of those traitors who tried to destroy the United States of America

    I read this somewhere:
“If we don’t believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don’t believe in it at all.”
Perhaps the gentleman with the flag had an ancestor who was ruined by the blockades of the northern aggressors. Those economic stangleholds on the south were the true cause of the civil war.

Now, what does that mean? It almost sounds as though you would make display of the Confederate battle flag a criminal offense.

“Man walking with a purpose..” What difference would it make if he was walking without a purpose?

  5. john says:

    No Dana not CRIMINAL
    BUT
an insult to all those who fought and died to preserve the United States of America. Patriots do NOT like the flag of traitors, rebels who attacked the United States of America and who were NOT going to tolerate the end of slavery, which allowed men women and children to be bought and sold whipped and raped.
When NASCAR and WalMArt say that flag should not be displayed it means that only extremists think it should be displayed.

But those are the exact things the First Amendment was meant to protect, right? Do you still believe in it?

So 11 independent states withdraw from the union and form their own Union as they are legally allowed to do under consensual cooperation and as declared in our American Declaration of Independence and you call them traitors?

The whole of 11 states are traitors because they want to leave because they didn’t like the abuse of federal power under and agreement called the U.S. Constitution?

If the federal government is the violator of such agreement, does it not make it therefore null and void?

Should the victims of a contract violation be subject to violence when the violator breaks its promises?

Should the federal government be able to force states to be members of a “UNION” under the threat of violence and force??

Did the victory of the north win a victory for freedom, or in a twisted way, actually define how and why the federal government would eventually usurp all local state authority and render the entire nation under a despot?

The civil war was no victory for the founding principles of this nation and the north has used the slavery issue to disguise the gross violation of the limitation of the federal government.

The winners always write the history books… Only a fool would think free and independent states should be forced at gun point into a “UNION”.

  8. Dana says:

Interestingly enough, the United States has generally supported — though not always — independence and separatist movements abroad. But here, at home? No way!

  9. jl says:

John, what does your semi-history lesson have to do with the man’s First Amendment right to walk down the street carrying that flag?

  10. Michael says:

To give everyone an even better idea of how dangerous the federal government actually is regarding state’s sovereignty, here is more recent history many are unaware of.

In 2010, during the height of the tea party movement, the Texas congress was about to pass an act to not allow TSA in any Texas airport.

The federal government kindly let Texas know that if they passed and tried to enforce such a move, that they would be sanctioned with a no-fly zone over Texas airspace.

The big and bad ass Texas congress shrunk and gave into the federal threats of war and we have never heard from them again.

There is no such thing as free and independent states…. We lost that war to Lincoln and his Chicago buddies.

Our freedom in America is merely an illusion taught in school and anytime anyone complains they are told that they could be living in some other hell hole instead rather than listening to the grievances with sincerity.

No one in America wants to believe that they have been living a lie. No one wants to admit that they are just government property of the federal government to be taxed and controlled however those in control see fit. No one wants to believe that they are just a member of a low security prison and if they step out of line, they will be made an example to the rest of us.

Everyone feels it, but no one will admit it. Anericans all live in fear…. Not of terrorists, but of their own government. And they should be.
