This should rile up all those pro-amnesty liberals, who say they believe in the environment and protecting the trees
(Washington Times) U.S. Border Patrol agents seeking to secure the nation’s border in some of the country’s most pristine national forests are being targeted by illegal aliens, who are using intentionally set fires to burn agents out of observation posts and patrol routes.
The wildfires have destroyed valuable natural and cultural resources in the National Forest System and pose an ongoing threat to visitors, residents and responding firefighters, according to federal law-enforcement authorities and others.
In the Coronado National Forest in Arizona, with 60 miles of land along the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. Forest Service firefighters sent in to battle fires or clear wild-land fire areas are required to be escorted by armed law-enforcement officers.
Armed smugglers of aliens and drugs have walked through the middle of active firefighting operations, the authorities said.
Well, that’s just super. These illegals, who are supposedly just looking for a better life (which begs the question, if America is as bad as liberals say, why do all these people go through all this to come here illegally?), start out not only breaking the law by coming across the border, but now are involved in arson, which has, fortunately, not hurt any border patrol agents or firefighters yet. But, it is only a matter of time.
The Coronado National Forest is not the only area along the border being targeted for wildfires. Other blazes also have been set, including two this month near the San Luis, Ariz., port of entry as the result of Molotov cocktails — one of which barely missed a Border Patrol agent.
I wonder how the tree huggers will respond. Will they pitch a conniption fit over this desecration of Mother Nature, or side with the illegals? Or how about W, Graham, Kyle, and the other pro-amnesty Senators? Will they find anything negative in the illegals actions? Maybe they will get out and protest to save whatever endangered wildlife lives there.
Meanwhile, Dingy Harry is going to attempt a rare tactic known as a "clay pigeon" to get the shamnesty bill to a vote. I have to wonder why Reid is so gung ho to get the bill passed, since he really doesn’t support it, or amnesty. Who is pushing his buttons and pressuring him?
Quick Update after a stroll through the feedreader: Michelle Malkin (who has a kickin’ new look, and wisely switched to WordPress) calls it "Lighting the fires Americans won’t light." Heh!
