Michelle Obama Has Snit Fit Over Changes To School Lunch Program

Michelle apparently forgot this

You can find tons of tweets with the hashtage #thanksMichelleObama in regards to the changes she required for school lunches. Literally no one liked these lunches at public schools, and the kids were throwing the “food” out, creating lots of “food” waste. But, now

(CNN) Former first lady Michelle Obama expressed concern Friday over the Trump administration’s decision to scale back school meal nutritional requirements.

“You have to stop and think, ‘Why don’t you want our kids to have good food at school? What is wrong with you, and why is that a partisan issue?” Obama said at the annual summit of the Partnership for a Healthier America, a nonprofit that works with the private and public sectors to fight childhood obesity. “Why would that be political?”

Good “food”!

Obama — who did not mention President Donald Trump or first lady Melania Trump by name — emphasized that it’s important to make sure parents think about the importance of healthy school lunches.

“Moms, think about this,” she said. “I don’t care what state you live in. Take me out of the equation; like me, don’t like me, but think about why someone is OK with your kids eating crap.”

Refer back to the previous tweet. Is that something you would eat? Better question: is that something Michelle Obama would eat? Would she serve that to Barack? Would she have allowed the White House chef to serve that to her kids?

“My commitment to these issues is real,” she said. “I picked this issue because there was deep passion for it as a mother. … I’m going to continue working on this.”

Her kids sure didn’t eat that slop at their own high-toned and fancy to-do school. Why didn’t she force that school to serve her kids the same as other kids? She did very much want Everyone Else’s kids to be forced to eat that slop, and still does.

Not to pile on, but libs worry too much about what people eat. Humans evolved eating nuts, leaves, fruits and uncooked groundhogs and ducks, so having hotdogs and pizza for lunch is not so bad.

That said, IF Mrs. Obama’s push is to have schoolchildren consume fewer calories at lunch, it’s beneficial.

It’s a first world “problem” – in America we consume more calories than we burn, and have scant nutritional deficiencies – 3rd world nations just need more calories.

In the western world, the primary health issue associated with diet is obesity. As a whole, American’s need to consume fewer calories and/or burn more. Whether those calories derive from pizza or kale casserole is largely irrelevant, but good luck getting kids to eat kale.

      Mine eat kale, and spinach!

The real problem is that the federal government is, once again, interfering with what local public schools do. Because local schools have become addicted to federal dollars, the feds get to impose all sorts of stupid regulations.

The solution is to eliminate federal subsidies, and then reduce federal taxes, leaving the states with the room to raise taxes to make up the difference. Sending the money to Washington first simply adds another layer of bureaucracy, along with requiring more bureaucrats at the state and local levels, to fill out compliance forms; that’s just a waste of money.

But, then comes the dirty little secret. Most states and localities have balanced budget requirements, while the federal government does not. Every state runs a deficit, but the federal dollars fill those deficits; basically, the states pass on their deficits to the federal government. To end federal subsidies would require the states to raise their taxes more than federal taxes would be cut.

        U.S. Department of Education:

        Number of employees– 4400 (2016)
        Yearly budget — $68 billion (2016)

What does the Department of Education do for us?
The primary functions of the Department of Education are to “establish policy for, administer and coordinate most federal assistance to education, collect data on US schools, and to enforce federal educational laws regarding privacy and civil rights.”

So one might ask, is this department really needed?
Unless one is a member of the Teachers Unions or a federal employee union, the answer is a definite NO.

Let them eat lobster or kobe beef like the Moocher.

  3. Jeffery says:

Is “Moocher” Melania trump’s new nickname? No first lady in history has taken more money from the taxpayers than Mrs. trump. It’s not even close. But who can blame her? Her options are sleep with the bloated fraud or steal taxpayer money and live the good life in Manhattan (and Mar a Lago on weekends). We are paying her $100s of millions a year to not sleep with the corpulent fraud.

That certainly makes a lot of sense, little guy.
      You’re soooo smart.
