Will Climate Central, one of the leading climate cult hysteric outlets, mention the Urban Heat Island effect?
October Nights Are Warming in 93% of Major U.S. Cities
- Climate change is the leading cause of fall warming in most major U.S. cities. A warmer fall season prolongs the risks from heat-related illness, wildfires, allergies, and more.
- New Climate Central analysis finds that climate warming has also taken the chill out of a favorite fall tradition: trick-or-treating.
- October nights have warmed in 93% of 246 U.S. cities analyzed — by 3.4°F on average since 1970.
- October nights have warmed the most on average in cities across the Northeast.
- Graphics also show each city’s warmest, coldest, and rainiest Halloween on record.
You can then go and see the “data” for those cities. Let’s see Raleigh

According to their own graphic it was warmer in 1971 and I guess sometime in the late 80s than 2019. Raleigh is a city that has grown tremendously since 1970, and all the surrounding areas have skyrocketed in the past 20. Cary, Morrisville, Apex, Wake Forest, Clayton, Garner, and Knightdale, all on the outskirts. The number of apartment complexes and massive townhome ones have exploded. Businesses, asphalt for roads.
At the end of the day, it’s a Holocene warm period, and UHI/Land Use seriously changes the paradigm. They should try doing these same numbers for out in the country side.

This sounds like man can alter the climate?
Less than 4% of the land area of the USA is it an
Urbanism has certainly warmed things: the low in Lexington was 48º F, surrounded by concrete and asphalt, while out in the country, my weather station indicated 40.1º this morning. I’m surrounded by forests and fields, one two-lane road, and the Kentucky River.
Heat related illnesses? It’s not like this warmer autumn is sending temperatures near 100º F, but we’re having, here in the beautiful Bluegrass Stat, highs in the mid 70s instead of mid 60s, with lows in the low 40s instead of a first frost.
Well Dana I guess all that is really important to you is
You!
42.2º F here first thing this morning, high forecast for 77º F. Yeah, that’s pretty important.
But what’s just as important is not seeing higher taxes and draconian controls imposed to fight a purported change in the climate that would do no such thing anyway. I have absolutely no objection to you taking whatever actions you believe will help fight
global warmingclimate change, as long as you are doing it voluntarily, and not trying to impose them on the rest of us.There was a report the other day about a “polar vortex” effect that might, might! happen in mid-November, but no one really knows. There is a statistical possibility that it could happen, if a couple of other things happen. but we can’t even predict the weather two to three weeks from now, yet you want to tax us all into penury over what the weather might be like 74 years from now?
Penury? Europe, Japan, South Korea and and United States of America have continued to reduce their CO2 emissions over the past few decades, while global emissions continue to rise (China!!!).
History shows that economies can reduce energy-generated air pollution but only AFTER they have met their citizens basic needs! And usually by shifting to less polluting sources – coal –> petroleum; petroleum –> renewables/nuclear – and using remediations, like forcing residents to ONLY be able to purchase vehicles with catalytic converters! And the governments forced (or bribed) coal plants to cut sulfur and nitrogen oxide emissions!! Fossil fuel power plants have traditionally been placed within proximity of customers, i.e., metro areas! And often near rivers or lakes.
And yes, there’s a lot going on macroclimate-wise. A super-heated Super El Niño + an early breakdown in the polar vortex!! As you know, the “Polar Vortex is a broad winter circulation over the northern (and southern) hemispheres. You can imagine the Polar Vortex as a spinning wall over the polar regions, rising from the surface into the stratosphere (over 31 miles high), trapping the cold polar air inside.”
“The latest forecasts show stratospheric winds collapsing toward a full reversal in early November, splitting the Polar Vortex into two separate cores.” Oh my! This could result in a November cold snap in the Eastern U.S. and Europe.
