Pacific Islands Have Pre-COP Meeting, They Want Money

Pacific nations take centre stage at ‘pre-COP’ climate summit

The South Pacific is among the most vulnerable regions in the world to global warming — from rising sea waters jeopardizing homes to increasing temperatures causing coral bleaching.

This week’s talks in Nadi and on the atoll nation of Tuvalu are a precursor to the larger UN-sponsored global climate summit — known as COP31 — to be held next month in Turkey.

Pacific leaders are pushing for the world to stick to a target of limiting global warming to 1.5C, enhance access to climate finance and give more attention to the impact on oceans.

“Our prime minister will carry three clear messages to the leaders this week: keep 1.5 degrees within reach, make finance reach the communities that need it and give the ocean its rightful place in the climate regime,” Fiji’s climate minister Lynda Tabuya told the opening ceremony.

Sea levels are rising at a record pace, driven by warming oceans and glacier melt, according to a UN report.

Yeah, the actual data shows that sea levels are not doing that, as I’ve shown time and time again

It also highlighted a financing gap, with developing countries needing $310-$365 billion to adapt, yet having only $26 billion in adaptation finance available in 2023.

And that is what all this is about: free money with zero strings attached, because developed countries “owe them”.

But officials have been forced to concede that the guest list will be smaller than they had hoped.

Fewer than a dozen world leaders have publicly confirmed that they will attend.

On the streets of Nadi, most locals seemed unaware that a global summit was even taking place.

Well, yeah, because so much of that climate scam money never gets used the way it’s supposed to be used. Instead it disappears into the pockets of politicians, friends, family, and NGOs.

Perfection will not be found in this world, perhaps in the next.

There is also rampant fraud in the military industrial complex. Should we stop all funding ?

  2. Wylie1 says:

So, Al Gore is a CoC sucker? All these years I spelled it wrong. My bad.

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Over the past century or so, Europe, Russia, America, and more recently, China have pumped CO2 into the atmosphere causing the Earth to warm.

Although Mr Teach denies it, the oceans are rising. Pacific island nations are threatened and need funds to adapt (sea walls, moving inland, even moving to continents!) to the sea level rise that they did not cause. Here in the U.S., if it’s determined in court that you’ve damaged someone the victim is awarded money for “damages”. The awardee decides how to spend the “damages”.

Now… “A UN report released in August found developing countries needed $310 billion-$365 billion to adapt, yet had only $26 billion in adaptation finance available in 2023.”

Over $300 billion seems like a lot, but 3400 global *billionaires hold over $20 Trillion. Global net worth is about $600 Trillion. The islands nations are requesting 0.05% to save their nations from a calamity caused by peoples of Europe, Russia, America and China.

These facts irk those like Mr Teach so they Deny global warming and dishonestly call it a “scam”.

*These same billionaires are behind the AI bubble (scam) that will add even greater amounts of CO2 to the atmosphere! Total investment in AI is expected to reach about $1 Trillion in 2026 alone. (1 trillion = 1000 billion)

      Again, one says prove it.

      Rimjob knows he cannot.

      Bwaha! Lolgf!
      MAGA47 Motherfucker!

    • Jl says:

You mean CO2 allegedly causing the earth to warm….

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Correct. Evidence is overwhelmingly consistent with the theory that man-generated CO2 is causing the Earth to warm rapidly.

        • James Lewis says:

          And that evidence is????

          Please be specific.

          • drowningpuppies says:

            Told ja.

Rimjob cannot provide any of that “overwhelming” evidence.

            He just likes to argue.

          • Professor Hale says:

I happen to live on the planet Earth. I can tell you with certainty, that the parts I have visited show no evidence of any warming, rapid or otherwise. There is of course rapid warming every day after sunrise, followed by cooling in the evenings and slow warming in the spring until mid Summer, followed by cooling as we go into Winter. I call this “Daily climate change” and “Annual climate change”. As far as I can tell, there are no humans involved in controlling this. I have seen some humans tampering with the time of day the sun rises and sets. You can all check my math by going outside for yourselves once in a while.

            Is that specific enough?

        • Jl says:

          Yes, what “evidence”?
