Washington Post Notices Trump Is Having Trouble With The Houthis

Obviously, Trump shouldn’t have started none with Iran and their proxies, because the Houthis were totally peaceful beforehand

As Iran proxies activate in Yemen and Iraq, Trump’s Mideast morass deepens

As the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran opened with the killing of the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Donald Trump said the bombing would continue “throughout the week, or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!”

More than six months later, turmoil in the Middle East is only growing, while Trump seems to have no path out of the quagmire.

As of Friday, two of the most important corridors for global energy shipments — the Strait of Hormuz, gateway to the Persian Gulf, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, at the mouth of the Red Sea — were largely closed, respectively under control of the Iranian regime and the Houthis, Iran’s proxy in Yemen.

Also on Friday, Iraqi militants allied with Iran struck Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline, through which the Saudis had been rerouting oil to bypass the blocked Strait of Hormuz.

Obviously, this is All Trump’s Fault

The conflict in Yemen is an example of how the situation in the region has deteriorated since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.

In February, Yemen’s long civil war was on pause, thanks to a tenuous but still-intact U.N brokered ceasefire. Fighting has now roared back to life.

A Yemeni official who is part of the internationally recognized, Saudi-backed coalition government said there is desire for the Trump administration to intervene militarily against the Houthis, as it did in 2025.

There’s no mention of Iran fomenting strife in the Middle East for 40 years. No mention of the rise of the Houthis, and Iranian proxy, in 2016 when Obama was president (and Biden VP), and him bombing the shit out of them. Or Iran enabling proxies in Iraq even back during the late Bush 43 years? And this all happening while Biden was president? It’s like those years do not exist to the leftard media.

BTW, what kinds of groups are they? What are they fighting for? Who are they fighting for?

  1. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Teach whines: “… this is All Trump’s Fault”!

Donny is president and started the current quagmire. He is discovering the meaning of FAFO.

Former Sec of Defense, Gen James Mattis: “No war is over until the enemy says it’s over. We may think it over, we may declare it over, but in fact, the enemy gets a vote.”

from Donny ally, Bezos’ WaPo, we get: “As of Friday, two of the most important corridors for global energy shipments — the Strait of Hormuz, gateway to the Persian Gulf, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, at the mouth of the Red Sea — were largely closed, respectively under control of the Iranian regime and the Houthis, Iran’s proxy in Yemen.”

What a fugging mess Big Donny has made of things. At least he has distanced us from every one of our allies. Except Russia.

  2. Alias says:

Besides killing the former Supreme Leader Trump also killed the wife and young daughter of the current Supreme Leader

Do you think that might provide an impediment fine my t in future in future negotiations? Would there be any justification for attacks against Trump’s family either state sponsored or or family vengeance?
In recent history I can not recall many if any instances of killing family members
