El-Sayed campaign backed by over $100,000 from dozens of members of group with alleged terror ties
Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign has collected more than $115,000 from individuals who work for or have held leadership roles with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been designated a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates and formally designated or labeled as such in Florida and Texas.
A Fox News Digital review found that El-Sayed, who has made getting “money out of politics” a central campaign rallying cry, has accepted donations from at least 41 individuals who either work for CAIR, formerly worked for CAIR, or have served in leadership positions with the organization.
The donor list includes several of CAIR’s highest-ranking officials, including national Board Chair Manal Fakhoury, national Board Treasurer Eyas Abdeen, national Vice Chair Emad Sabbah, and CAIR-Michigan board member Jukaku Tayeb, El-Sayed’s father-in-law.
Tayeb has been one of the largest financial backers of the super PAC supporting El-Sayed’s campaign and is also part of the founding committee of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group linked to Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood funding, Washington Free Beacon first reported.
One donor, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad, listed in FEC records under the name Nehad Hammad, drew national condemnation after saying he was “happy” to see Hamas break out of Gaza on Oct. 7, 2023, and arguing Israel “does not have the right to self-defense” as an occupying power.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a lot more with ties to Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, etc, people who despise Jews and want them killed and Israel wiped off the map. And, let’s be honest, if all this was known prior to the election Democrats still would have voted for Islamist El-Sayed to be their Senate nominee. There are so many that are simply batshit crazy that they support candidates who hate Jews, hate Israel, hate the United States, support Islamic extremism and terrorism, etc.

Technically, the “titular head of Israel” is President Isaac Herzog; the Prime Minister is the head of government. If that seems odd to you, compare it to His Majesty the King being the head of the United Kingdom while Prime Minister Andy Burnham is the head of government.
King Charles III is also the head of the Church of England, but that doesn’t mean he rules over Episcopalians in the United States and Africa and everyplace else which has a Church of England.
There is no “titular head”, no “Pope” of Judaism. There is a Chief Rabbinate in Israel, headed by Kalman Ber (Ashkenazi) and David Yosef (Sephardi), who became Chief Rabbis of Israel in 2024, but their authority is limited to Israel.

Do you really not understand the difference between head of government and head of state? I realize that, in the United States, they are the same man, but in parliamentary systems they are usually separate offices. I would have thought my example of the UN, with the separate offices of the monarch and the prime minister, it would have made sense to you, but apparently it is just outside of your comprehension.
