PRC Labor Unions Protest Over Climate And Affordability

Have they considered that things are so bad in the People’s Republik Of California because the unions support and vote for Democrats?

California labor unions rally at Capitol over affordability, climate issues

climate cowA coalition of labor unions rallied at the State Capitol on Wednesday, calling on lawmakers to address what they described as a growing affordability and climate crisis affecting workers across California.

The California Labor for Climate Jobs Coalition said rising living costs, workplace safety concerns, and staffing shortages in key state agencies are putting pressure on workers statewide.

Union leaders said a package of proposed bills could help address those concerns while preparing California’s workforce for the impacts of climate change.

“The world is in a climate crisis, and workers are suffering because of that,” said Jacquelin Tkac, president of UAW Local 1115.

What do they really want? Well, a lot more workers who will be part of the unions, giving them more money and power. Huh.

“The big ask is a set agenda of bills that really support working people in affordability, in safety, and in workers’ rights, especially in the context of climate change and the way that that’s massively restructuring our economy,” said Julia Sebastian with the California Labor for Climate Jobs Coalition.

Two of the bills focus on refinery safety and supporting refinery workers during refinery closures in California, according to the coalition.

“That also links to affordability and the gas prices that we’re seeing right now, ways that we can really make sure that we keep gas prices lower rather than spiking, and also safe safety in refinery workplaces and surrounding communities,” Sebastian said.

Have they considered that their support of Democrats and climate scam legislation has made California gas so f’ing expensive? Sigh.

And potential California Governess nominee Katie Porter just told us, via Twitter, that she enthusiastically “supports taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants.”

The Pyrite State is half a trillion dollars in debt, and this good and kind and noble liberal lady wants to spend even more money on tax consumers.

This is the problem with our good friends on the left and their policies: they apparently failed first grade arithmetic and don’t realize that 2 + 2 ? 7.4. The very lovely Miss Porter, a graduate of both Yale (BA) and Hahvahd (JD) still can’t count! The state of my birth has been losing taxpayers who have been fleeing the ridiculous costs and taxes, and sucking in illegals who consume taxes at a far greater rate than they can pay them — Mr Dowd will object to that, but with the state spending approximately $19,894 to $20,496 per student, based on 2022-2023 expenditures, every illegal immigrant child and anchor baby is a huge drain on resources — Miss Porter’s plans cannot be realized.

    Liberal math just ain’t mathin’.

Speaking of arithmetic! The U.S. of A, topped by Repubicuns who control the White House, Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, are buying up the media and with most of the money is about $40 trillion in debt!!

But St. Ronald Reagan proved that deficits don’t matter (according to Repub Dick Cheney).

California is the 4th largest economy on Earth and paid $278 billion more (2024) into the fed coffers than they received.

U.S. of A taxpayers paid $29 billion to subsidize our friends in Kentucky in 2024. Kentucky sucked up almost 10% of California’s largesse!!

One of the most convoluted responses ever from the Rimjob.
      Keep it up, genius.

    • Dana says:

The distinguished Mr Dowd uses the typical whataboutism argument, that it’s somehow just fine that the aspiring Governess can’t pay for what she wants to do because the Federal government is just as bad, when the real answer is to end all state and federal welfare programs, and cut spending at all levels of government.

I seem to remember that our madcap medicine man was just horribly, horribly upset when Elon Musk and the ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ were slashing what Federal spending that they could. We have all noted Mr Dowd’s cries that we must protect illegal immigrants, even though they are a huge drain on the taxpayers.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

No need to lie. The evidence is clear. We “get” that those “Americans” who want to build a white christion nation by any and all means necessary will lie to support their dream.

Madman Donny, whose brain is circling the drain, is a much larger drain than are the immigrants. Gasoline and diesel are Mad high because of Donny’s antics. Inflation jumping. Federal spending is increasing NOT decreasing!

Elon, Donny and his DOGE boyz geniuses were a publicity stunt. VP Gore reduced gov’t more during President Clinton’s term! Whatabout that? Our current debt just exceeded our yearly GDP, and is near $40 Trillion and projected to continue to increae!! Thanks Elon. Thanks Donny. Thanks Rethugs. These nitwits took a chainsaw to political targets.

Will our estimable Mr Dana agree that KY should pay ITS own way and stop sponging off CA, NY NJ, MA, CT et al??

NO ONE in DC has the balls to cut spending OR increase revenues. We now spend about $1 trllion per year paying interest on the debt!! Even St Reagan, fiscal conservative, tripled the national debt. President Clinton last balanced the yearly budget.

          More boogity-boogity from the Rimjob.
Let’s see how many times he can repeat his logical fallacy (appeal to authority) as an argument.

The right wing of both political parties has aleays hated migrants.always.

Growing up in the 50s 12 miles west of Boston my family was the first Catholic family the first Irish the first with more than 2 kids
    kids.
    Our school prayer was protestant

This hatred/fear of others is based on long psst times when people from other tribes might kill you

Migrants should not cause fear in people
37% of NYCs population is foreign born
Our murder rate per capita is 50% of North Carolina
    25% that of Mississippi’s
Teach fears migrants especially those “military a
    aged men”,
