Whereas the subject being discussed was/is the extreme temps in the western part of the USA

I did look into it. Wielecki’s graph was for yearly Calfornia temps. Not daily, not monthly. Teach and the “Dr” are comparing apples to fish.
Have we shown that the recent extreme temps are anything out of the ordinary? How could it be about the same temp as over 100 years ago when the CO2 concentration was about 100ppm less back then?

The U.S. occupies less than 2% of the Earth’s surface. You should understand that the mean global surface temperature is, well, global. “Mean” means average. “Global” means the whole Earth!
See the table from Mr trump’s own .gov. From 1875-1884 the mean US temperature was 51.3F. From 2016-2025 it was 56.1F. 56.1 > 51.3. In superhot 1934 it was 55.3F.

Please understand that greenhouse gases are not the ONLY determinant of daily temperatures!! But – greenhouse gases are the primary cause of our warming planet.

The cherry-pickers would be the ones only looking at specific days (it was 108 yesterday in Yuma!). So Mr Wielicki looked at average yearly temps in a specific area out west, California. That would be much more indicative of showing any potential trend than just looking at specific days
You should understand that I was describing people of the cult that took the recent heat out west and proclaimed it “caused by global warming”, when that is unknown. So for you to understand, I commented on those who took a specific area of the earth, the western US, (way less than 2% of the earth’s surface), by looking at and commenting on the exact same areas that they were.
