Fish Wrap Worries New ACA Plans Could Be “Unaffordable”

This is such a fantastic program, a law called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which has pretty much been called unaffordable since it started

New A.C.A. Plans Could Increase Family Deductibles to $31,000

The Trump administration’s proposed new rules for Obamacare plans next year would shift more health care costs to Americans, with much higher deductibles that could lead to greater medical bills.

Under the proposal, people who rely on the Affordable Care Act for their health insurance coverage could choose plans with much lower monthly premiums. But that could leave them exposed to medical expenses totaling thousands of dollars more than A.C.A. plans do now before their insurance would kick in.

Heading into the midterm elections, offering these new plans is one of few options open to the Trump administration to lower Obamacare premiums that do not require congressional approval. Affordability has become a campaign mantra for Democrats: Health care costs were viewed as the top economic concern in a recent public opinion poll from KFF, a health research group.

In his State of the Union address, Mr. Trump blamed “the crushing costs of health care” on the Affordable Care Act, saying the program funneled money to the big insurance companies, He advocated sending the payments directly to Americans, so they could “buy their own health care, which will be better health care at a much lower cost.”

Really, the entire thing needs to be scrapped and redone so that it works correctly, because what it’s done since it started was increase the cost of health insurance and medical care for everyone, including those not on Obamacare. It would be best if it was states doing it, not the federal government, but, the door was opened, and you can almost never close a door on a federal “help” program once it is opened.

Low cost premium plans always had deductibles that were virtually impossible to meet for those who wanted the plans. The premiums themselves kept rising to the point that federal subsidies were out of control. So, what now? All the news outlets and Democrats never actually offer any solutions, because they love that all those medical companies they profess to hate are getting gobs of easy money which gets funneled back to Democrats.

MAGAts, and the Repubes before them, have always hated the idea of universal healthcare. Always. The systems work well in Israel, Canada, Japan, S Korea, Norway, Australia and every other advanced nation on Earth etc, but the globe’s leading plutocracy, the United States of America, prefers to have the working class beholden and suffering. There can be no other interpretation.

It’s all about control. The billionaires have millions of eager foot soldiers to manipulate.

The Repubicuns consistently do whatever they can to saboutage Medicare, Medicaid and the ACA.

Repubicuns “love” America but despise Americans. They report to the plutocrats.

If the plutocrats and their “boy”, the Mad King, are unable to rig the mid-terms they may see a reckoning.

      — Obama before ACA.

OK. So judge Aileen Cannon of Florida, who turned out to be Mar-a-Lardo Donnie’s personal federal judge is married to Josh Lorence, a FL businessman who used to work with Jack Rosatti, a FL mobster with luxury car dealerships and restaurant. Rosatti, associated with the Colombo family, turns out to be a good friend to Donald J. Trump!

    Small world!!

    • drowningpuppies says:

      Quite a stretch there, Rimjob.

Pretty sure that Trump being the major developer in NYC during the 70s-80s-90s probably knew every mobster on a first name basis.

CumBreath typed: “Trump being the major developer in NYC during the 70s-80s-90s probably knew every mobster on a first name basis.”

And you believe that’s a good thing? Yes, trump has run with “the mob” for decades, as did his dad.

Donnie’s legal advisor was the lawyer to the mob, Roy Cohn. Charles Kushner, Jared’s daddy, is a fellow felon and real estate crook in NY and NJ, with ties to the mob. Donnie played footsies with the Genovese family. Donnie pardoned Charles and made him ambassador to France which he recenty fucked up.

In the early 2000s, Charles Kushner was a major donor to the allegedy corrupt Dem Gov McGreevey of NJ. Kushner was convicted of contribution violations and worse.

Your Mad King is in bed with the mob. And that’s not even his worst flaw!!

Judge Aileen should have recused herself from felonous trump cases.

        • drowningpuppies says:

Are you really this stupid, Rimjob?
Guess you don’t quite comprehend that the mob controlled almost every aspect of the construction business during that time. One had to get along with them in order to get any development built.

William supplied this, but ignored it.

“The Trump administration’s proposed new rules for Obamacare plans next year would shift more health care costs to Americans, with much higher deductibles that could lead to greater medical bills.”

    Jesus, you guys are dishonest.

“If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance.”

Taking the Lord’s name in vain won’t change those false assertions.
      Let’s discuss dishonesty, shall we?

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The Repukes are destroying the remnants of U.S. healthcare.

        Let’s discuss that, shall we?

        Jesus fucking christ…

Last polls on ObamaCare show 64% approval
The people who don’t like it are not the people using it

My HMO does not allow me 100% reimbursement on all doctors . I think pretty much that is the case of all subsidized healthcare. Of course if you do not choose to use one of any plans approved doctors you can opt to pay out of your own pocket.
ObamaCare will not pay for your Hollywood celeb doctor
    Meh

  5. Aliassmithsmith says:

Should the USA be moving towards healthcare like in Switzerland and Japan an Israel? Where people all live longer ?

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Someone MUST pay for plutocrats’ tax cuts!!! That someone is the working class!!

Despite DOGE, the debt is increasing! Despite hundreds of thousands of federal firings, the debt is increasing!! Despite Big Beautiful massive cuts to food assistance, health care, education programs and student loan services, the debt is still increaing!!! It’s projected to double in the next decade!!

Your only hope is for the Mad King and his minions to rig the mid-terms. They’re trying!!

Of course, the idea of democracy would be to have “the people” vote their support for their own destruction. But it’s safer to rig the elections.

Will King Donald declare a national emergency? Only if he must.
