Ul Duce Starmer Thinks Ukraine Is Most Important Issue Of Our Age

I thought he said ‘climate change’ was the most important issue? Or, was that importing Islamists and 3rd worlders to change the UK into a completely different nation? Or, was it destroying free speech for British citizens, taking their flags away, arresting them for silently protesting abortion, sending Mean Tweets?

UK’s Starmer: Ukraine war the most critical issue of our age

Keir Starmer has offered fresh support for Kyiv on the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Britain announced Tuesday it will provide £20 million for emergency repairs to energy supplies damaged by Russian attacks over the winter, as well as help to resist so-called “Russification” tactics, and helicopter training for Ukrainian pilots in the U.K.

The announcement comes ahead of a a virtual “coalition of the willing” meeting of Ukraine’s allies Tuesday — the first since Britain and France signed a declaration to send troops to Ukraine if a peace deal is agreed.

Starmer will co-chair the meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss plans in the event of a ceasefire.

“This war remains the most critical issue of our age. It asks the question of whether Ukrainian and European freedom will endure. Our answer, together, is unequivocal. Russia is not winning this war. They will not win this war,” Starmer said in a statement announcing the extra support.

So important that they’re sending $27 million? That’s it? It’s the whole part about talking about freedom that is funny. Of course, their version of freedom is different then ours. They just mean Europe isn’t under the foot of authoritarian Russia, not the foot of authoritarian EU politicians.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the BBC in an interview to mark the anniversary he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin has already started a third world war. “The question is how much territory he will be able to seize and how to stop him,” he said.

Well, so far, Russia isn’t trying to invade any other nations: they’re having enough trouble with Ukraine. But, if Ukraine is the most critical issue, then why are there so few articles about it? Most are far down the page, certainly not front page news. The war just keeps grinding on 4 years in. No real movement. Most want Russia out. How’s that going to happen? It really made no difference when Europe and the Biden admin were feeding massive amounts of weapons and money to Ukraine.

Quite frankly, there’s been less chance of WWIII since Trump took office.

If EU leaders want freedom, when does Ukraine have elections?

Zelenskyy denies plan to announce elections in Ukraine soon despite pressure from Trump

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not plan to make an announcement about looming presidential elections in an upcoming speech commemorating the four-year mark of the war, the Ukrainian leader said late Wednesday, after a report suggested he would schedule a national vote due to pressure from President Trump.

Zelenskyy told reporters that Ukraine would “move toward elections when all the relevant security guarantees are in place.”

He’s cancelled them all during war. Maybe these people can vote?

Why the Mad King and his Krusaders fervently and continually defend Putin and Russia is a puzzlement.

Donnie’s Devotees are cultists who follow him without question. It defines a cult.

But what receipts does Vladimir hold over King Donald to make him so subservient?

Well, it’s obvious: to show how much you disagree with the Mad King and his cultists, you should pick up a f(ornicating) rifle and head for Ukraine, to give Vladimir Vladimirovich a thorough beating, and to show the bravery of liberal Americans in fighting the evil Russian hordes. Do it! Don’t be subservient to the President’s wishes to keep out of it; show him your great intestinal fortitude as you bravely fight on the front lines!

It’s easy to sit in front of your monitor screen and advocate sending Other People to the battlefields; it’s time for you to show us what real guts you have.

I get paid over $130 1 to 3 hours working from home with 2 kids at home. I never thought I’d be able to do it but my best friend earns over $27k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The potential with this is endless.

    Our esteemed host asked:

But, if Ukraine is the most critical issue, then why are there so few articles about it?

I did, but then again, I’m a nobody.

Simon Tisdall of The Guardian wants a “coalition of the willing” to:

deploy troops . . . to secure and defend Kyiv and other unoccupied cities; Russia cannot be allowed a veto. Enforce a no-fly exclusion zone, as I have repeatedly urged. Surge defensive missiles and drones. Beach Russia’s shadow fleet. Step up covert “active measures”, including cyber and sabotage, to counter Kremlin hybrid warfare. Seize assets, expel spies, expose lies, change the narrative. Europe must demand an immediate ceasefire, followed by phased Russian withdrawals, and assume a lead role in any final settlement talks.

Now, how are the Europeans going to force that without actually going to war with nuclear-armed Russia? How many European citizens are going to support sending their own countries’ troops to Ukraine?

An obvious point: if NATO troops go to war with Russia, rather than Russia invading a NATO nation, Article 5, which specifies that an attack on one is an attack on all is negated, because it wouldn’t be Russia attacking NATO, but the other way around. Turkey, a NATO nation, certainly wouldn’t go along with a war against Russia, nor would Hungary, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia or the Balkan nations. Germany, which is struggling to keep the conservative AfD party out of power, would guarantee AfD a guaranteed electoral victory, and France, trying mightily to keep conservative National Front out of power, would see them surge and take power. Keir Starmer, whose Labour Party government has been a disaster and probable election loser soon anyway, would fall.

One thing is obvious: no matter how much the elites argue for doing something, the European public do not want war with Russia.

Think back to our own history: as much as we disliked the Nazis and the Japanese militarist government, the American people were not ready to go to war until we were attacked first. Even then, we declared war only on Japan; it took der Führer declaring war on the US on December 11, 1941 for that to happen, regardless of how much President Roosevelt might have wanted it.

We don’t have to like what Russia has done, but that doesn’t mean we want to go to war with Russia over it.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Few want a war with Russia, but recall that Russia invaded Ukraine. Perhaps the conservative movements in Europe are willing to sacrifice Ukraine to the Russians, but conservative are not noted for their courage. Maybe they trust Vladimir to stop with Ukraine, but why would he stop?

European troops in Ukraine would not be ATTACKING Russia but defending Ukraine.

Don’f forget that Russia is the bad guy here. Not Ukraine, not NATO, not the United States.

When Ukraine have up its nuclear weapons in 294 the USA pledged to guarantee the sovereignty of Ukraine
Does Dana feel that we should break our pledge? Certainly Trump has no honor
