The rate of increase has more than doubled over the past 30 years. There is no scientific reason to expect the rate to slow.
9 centimeters = 3.54431 inches, over 30 years. So, by 2100, we should see global sea levels rise 8.860775 inches. I admit to not seeing how this constitutes disaster.

Californians will be getting what they want… good and hard. Two of their gasoline refineries will be closing in 2026, never to reopen. Since California has no gasoline pipelines into the state, they depend on shipping to bring in crude and now will depend on those ships to bring in refined products. And since only a few refineries on the planet can produce the special formulation that California regulators demand, the supplies will drop even further. When it comes to fuel, California is as much an island as Hawaii. As the supply drops, their prices will continue to climb. Their $5/gallon prices will soon be a happy memory.
