It really is so horrible, and it is all your fault
Climate protesters swelter in Brazilian sun outside COP30 summit
Thousands of climate protesters marched through the Brazilian city of Belem on Saturday in a noisy, diverse and peaceful display to demand more action to protect the fate of the planet and vent their anger at governments and fossil fuel industries.
A short distance away, negotiators reached the halfway point in the marathon COP30 climate summit which seeks to turn years of promises into action to halt rising global temperatures and deliver support to those most affected by a warmer planet.
So, they’re protesting for more taxes, fees, and government control of their lives? Idiots.
Out on the streets Indigenous people, young activists and civil society groups came together in sweltering temperatures, singing, playing musical instruments and waving banners.
“This is a place for us to march and draw up a roadmap for what needs to be done at this COP: a transition away from deforestation and the use of fossil fuels,” Brazil’s environment minister Marina Silva said, addressing the crowds.
I wonder how many took long, fossil fueled flights to Brazil? Anyhow, sweltering? The average temperature in Belem in November is 89F, with an average low of 75F. It’s in the jungle, and about 100 miles south of the equator. It got to about 84F today, with a heat index of 91F. You know, jungle. Near the equator. But, the Reuters article fails to mention this

Promises are cheap; action is not.
Remember how Barack Hussein Obama made sure that the Paris Climate Accord (COP-21) in 2015 was worded in such a way that neither the United States Senate needed to ratify it as a treaty, of both Houses of Congress to pass it as a law? That was done because President Obama knew it would never pass! President Trump withdrew our signature from it in 2017, but then the dullard from Delaware reinstated it.
Not that it matters: to the surprise of absolutely no one, most of the signatory nations have failed to meet their climate commitments, and as our distinguished host reported just two days ago, “Fossil Fuels ‘Emissions’ To Hit Record Highs In 2025.”
So, what are they going to do? Make yet more promises which will not be kept?
