See, Democratic Science requires a one sided belief in the People’s Republik Of New York
State Ed says teachers must teach human causes of climate change
Students must learn about climate change and environmental stewardship, the Board of Regents has decided.
The topic has been required in high school science classes for years. But now it must also be taught in elementary and middle schools.
Surveys suggest it will be a rough transition.
Few elementary school teachers feel prepared to teach about climate change, and almost half of middle school science teachers tell students that humans haven’t caused climate change, according to national surveys published in 2022 and 2024.
At every level — K-4, middle school and high school — students must learn about the causes, impacts of and solutions regarding climate change. The curriculum must be implemented by the 2027-28 school year for middle and high school students, and by 2028-29 for elementary school students, the Board of Regents decided.
We know what the curriculum will read like, as the doomsday cult writes it. I wonder how well this will work in the vast areas of the PRNY which vote GOP? Will they abandon the state, further eroding the tax base and leading to even more Congressional seats being lost?
“I have gotten so many calls from students advocating for climate education,” said Regent Frances Wills. “It’s very connected to what kids are really interested in.”
OK, so, some youts complained, and, instead of doing their own reading, they are demanding that all youts be indoctrinated.
But teachers are not completely on board.
In a 2022 survey for the North American Association for Environmental Education, 37% of teachers agreed with the statement, “Climate change is a political issue that does not belong in the classroom.”
If you think about it, that’s a pretty big percentage, since the majority off teachers are liberals
Among urban teachers, 56% agreed with the statement, “There is too much emphasis placed on climate change when there are other issues to be addressed in education.” About a third of other teachers also agreed.
Climate doom is something that is mostly for affluent white liberals who rarely practice what they preach.

The new road from the airport into the city of Belen hosting the COPA required the destruction of about 60 acres of land which is about 50 football fields.
The city of Belem itself, population 1 million, occupies about 350,000 acres.
Doesn’t the OUTRAGE of Teach, concerning the supposed hypocrisy of this , seem a little silly?
Flying in a commercial jet long distance usually works out to about 100 to 120 mpg per seat they are very efficient
Newsome’s carbon footprint for that flight was about 1000 pounds
That would cost about 10 dollars. It could be offset by planting 15 trees
His ticket was not paid for by taxpayers but by a private not for profit environmental group
Schools should teach the scientific method in science classes. The Earth is warming from the CO2 we’re adding to the atmosphere. Clearly, commenters here demonstrate they never understood science.
Should they teach the processes of evolution?
Should they teach that the universe is 14 billion years old? That the Earth is over 4 billion years old? How vaccines work? Nutrition?
Lysenkoism.
Oddly enough, I never knew the political positions, or about the sex lives, of any of my teachers throughout elementary and secondary school. All of the female teachers save one were referred to as Mrs, so we knew that they were married, but that’s the extent of it.
Mt Sterling, Kentucky, was extremely heavily Democratic, but that was the 1960s, when all Southerners were Democrats, and before the Democratic Party went absolutely bonkers.
Imagine if you will a United States in which Republicans and Democrats alike supported free enterprise and capitalism, where both parties supported a strong national defense, where both parties supported freedom of speech and the press and religion, and where most of the families in both parties got out of bed on Sunday morning and went to church. That really happened, and in the sixties our most serious political disagreements were over the war in Vietnam, a war in which the leaders of both parties wanted to win. There were a few battles over integration, but the worst battles were over in the South, and were primarily fought over forced busing in the North.
In the more rural South, most of the counties had only one school system, after the black schools mysteriously burned to the ground, and all of the students had to go to the same schools.
