Is this a new one? I’m not sure I’ve seen the doomsday cult involve weddings into their dogma
Six ways to throw a climate-friendly wedding — and save money
Tips for Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and anyone else planning a wedding.
When my fiancée and I got engaged, we knew we wanted to celebrate our relationship in the company of our loved ones. As a climate journalist and a scientist interested in sustainability, we also knew we didn’t want our wedding to cause a lot of harm to the environment and climate. (snip)
Weddings can be beautiful, fun, affordable, and environmentally friendly, but that doesn’t happen by chance. You have to commit to it. The average U.S. wedding generates roughly 56 tons of carbon pollution. That’s over three times the amount the average American produces in a year and almost nine times more than the global average per person.
In addition to climate-warming pollution, weddings generate a lot of food and single-use plastic waste — by some estimates, the average wedding generates 400 pounds of waste.

Or, you can just mind your own beeswax? So, they want (and will soon demand government pass restrictions) you to
- Tighten your guest list
- Pick a location where at least 50% of your guests won’t have to fly, and hire local vendors
- Consider meat alternatives and look into venues that compost (I’m guessing this will pare the guest list down, as everyone goes “Nah, we’re good”)
- Choose a venue that is powered by renewable energy
- Use rentals or thrift items for decor, clothing, and more
- Talk about it! (annoy the f*** out of everyone involved, so they all bow out)
Seriously, does anyone possibly think Taylor and Travis are going to say “hey, Yale Climate Connections has a good point, we should do this?”

Meanwhile, King trump has passed restrictions on flag burning! He IS the government.
Are you surprised? It wasn’t that long ago that some Hollywood type — Sheryl Crowe? — was giving us climate and ecological advice on how to use toilet paper!
Missourian and country rock/pop/folk/blues/heartland rock singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow, whom the usually honest Mr Dana slurs as a “Hollywood type”, did make a joke to use one square of toilet paper per trip. Crow and her two adopted sons live in Nashville TN. She describes herself as “Christian”. Like Hollywood-type and TV star trump, Crow has had bit parts in movies and TV shows.
To our knowledge she didn’t suggest sending the US Army to American cities to enforce her notion.
With the cash from her last tour, they could have a wedding that makes the Bezos shindig look like a quicky at the local courthouse.
I can’t name a single Taylor Swift song. That said, she is a self-made multi-BILLIONAIRE from PA, who started out as a country music chanteuse before turning to pop music. To pursue her dream, her family moved to Nashville TN in 2003 when Swift was only 14. Her 2009 album Fearless became the most-awarded country album of all time.
She has found love with the midwestern big lug, Ohio-borne Travis Kelce, 6’5″, 250 lb all-pro tight end with our Kansas City Chiefs.
Ms Swift is noted for her generosity, donating MILLIONS to food banks like Feeding America and the Tennessee Community Foundation, as well as support for disaster relief efforts for California wildfires and other natural disasters. She also donates to organizations such as MusiCares, Habitat for Humanity, DoSomething.org, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
There have been no accusations of her setting up fake charities to enrich herself or her family.
During her “Eras Tour,” she gave out some $200 MILLION in bonuses to her tour staff, including the truck drivers and set-up crews.
