Bummer: Feds Looking At Social Media Accounts Of Visa Holders For Harvard

Realistically, they should be doing this for anyone coming on a visa, especially from certain countries, looking for support of Islamic extremism, America hatred, and Jew hatred

Federal officials to vet social media accounts of visa applicants heading to Harvard

The media never asks what they mean

Federal officials are set to start reviewing the social media accounts of visa applicants who plan to attend, work at or visit Harvard University for any signs of antisemitism, marking the latest development in a clash between the Trump administration and the Ivy League school.

A cable sent Friday signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and obtained by The Associated Press accused the university of failing to keep violence and antisemitism off campus. It said the vetting measure will help consular officers identify applicants with a history of those offenses “and to duly consider their visa eligibility under U.S. immigration law.”

The measure was sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates, and it takes effect immediately. It will serve as a pilot program that could be expanded more broadly, according to the cable. (snip)

More than a quarter of Harvard’s student body at its Cambridge campus are foreign students. Most are graduate students, coming from more than 100 countries.

Earlier this week, the State Department paused the scheduling of new visa interviews for foreign students looking to study in the U.S., saying it was preparing to expand the screening of their activity on social media. It’s unclear whether that pause has been lifted.

This is a long standing problem, letting in foreign students who support Islamic extremism, hate the U.S (and the Western world), and Jews. Who want to see Israel destroyed. One would have thought the feds would have been more careful, restrictive, and discerning in a post-9/11 world. I’d like to blame Obama and his people, but, this was happening under Clinton, and Bush43 didn’t seem to crack down.

Opinion – Pipeline of hate: From campus rhetoric to capital murder

Hatred doesn’t erupt — it festers, it seeps quietly into our culture through rhetoric, ideology and the institutions we trust to educate our young. Then, one day, it explodes.

Last week, that hatred turned lethal in the heart of our nation’s capital. Two young Israeli diplomatic staffers were killed — victims not of a random act of violence, but of a deep-seated ideology that has been allowed to metastasize from college campuses to city streets.

This tragedy did not begin with a gunman. It began with a lecture, a slogan, a chant shouted in the quad, a speech at commencement, or a tenured professor’s tweet. It began the moment elite institutions chose to confuse academic freedom with moral ambiguity or abdication, and to shelter calls for violence under the banner of “resistance.”

The alleged shooter was none other than a radicalized Elias Rodriguez, who had absorbed such teachings and joined the movements supporting them.

This is a long piece by Sabrina Soffer, which I’m surprised The Hill allowed to be published, which describes the long standing anti-Israel and anti-Jew sentiment on campus, particularly as it emanates from teachers. It’s well worth the read, but, it does miss one thing: how it starts with the Islamic extremists on campus, which is intentional, as they use the Muslim Brotherhood playbook. The Muslim Student Association exists to spread Islamism, hatred of the West, and Jew hatred. It’s an attempt to make Western governments and idiot leftists supporters, as well as get them to not interfere. Just allow it to happen. Remember the Pulse nightclub shooting? How many in the media and government looked at it as being a jihadi attack? Not many, right?

And notice that the murder of the two Israelis has mostly disappeared from the news. If it was an Israeli who murdered two Palestinians would we still be getting news?

Don’t you think they should be evaluating the social media posts of ALL residents?

Look at all the wrongthink they could root out!

You see, I believe the actions of Israel in Gaza, killing 10s of thousands of Palestinians is an outrage. I believe the United States should suspend all military aid to Israel as long as they are killing Palestinian babies, children, women and men.

Is that anti-Semitic? America hatred? Turn me in to the regime.

      Fat Jeff,
What is wrong with killing the Palestinians? They attacked Israel in the worse way possible, killing and raping. The people had not done a thing to them. The Palestinian cause has killed more people, for nothing. Time to wipe them out like roaches.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

Ugly david asks, “What is wrong with killing the Palestinians?”

Let me ask you, “What would Jesus do?” But you’re not a Christian, are you?

Anyway, many Palestinians think killing Israelis is OK. That they deserve death! Palestinian anger towards Israel is deeply rooted in the ongoing occupation, the expansion of settlements, restrictions on movement, the unresolved refugee issue, violence, and the perceived denial of their right to self-determination. Other than that…

I’m pretty sure the babies and children being killed were not involved. But I guarantee that those that survived will be. Good job, Bibi.

        • fp says:

Jesus did address a Gentile, “It’s not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

Let me ask you, “How would a ‘Palestinian’ respond to Jesus thusly?”

The “Palestinians” have occupied Gaza for twenty years. If they’re angry about the conditions of their “homeland”, then they have no one to blame but themselves. Why you and your leftist ilk always try to absolve them of responsibility — especially when they hate your vaunted homosexuals and would throw them off the nearest tall building given the opportunity, something Christians don’t do — would be a stone cold mystery if we didn’t already know that you and them share one thing, the most important thing, in common: Lust for power.

I’m pretty sure the women and children killed and kidnapped on Oct 7 weren’t involved, but I guarantee those who survived are now. Good job, leftists. You manage to take beautiful things, like Gaza once was, and turn them into trash.

The only people who’ve occupied Gaza in the last twenty years are the “Palestinians”. You can make all the excuses you want, but nothing will change the fact that they’re the ones who made Gaza a hellhole and they have no one to blame but themselves. If they’re angry, it’s because of Islam and and their pathetic enablers. they’re angry because so completely own the mess they made in Gaza since the Israelis left in 2005. Palestinian anger is rooted in Islam which nurtures their hate and envy. not all the excuses you made up.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

No one is absolving the Hamas murderers. Find every one of them execute them. Whatever we do as a nation, do NOT absolve Qatar of their long term support of Hamas, regardless of how much money they give the president and his family.

How would a Palestinian child respond to Jesus, who was arguably a Palestinian? I don’t know.

You’re a bit fuzzy on Gaza. Israel has controlled Gaza (and the West Bank) since 1967. Israel “gave up” Gaza in 2005 but has maintained a blockade. The Un considers Israel to be occupying Gaza.

    • Jl says:

And what “Palestinians” are you speaking of?

  2. Elwood P. Dowd says:

The opinion piece that Mr teach copied and pasted is from Sabrina Soffer:

Since the attacks against Israel and its civilian population on October 7th, Sabrina has worked extensively with the George Washington University administration to address anti-Semitic and anti-Israel activism on campus. Sabrina also was key in organizing a rally at the Lincoln Memorial on October 8th and a rally on GW’s campus on October 9th, in solidarity with Israel following the attacks.

    All within her rights.

Trump has never gotten over having his college application rejected by Harvard AND Columbia. He ended up going to Fordham. Not many have even HEARD. Of that school .what kind of man holds a grudge that long? A SNOWFLAKE
