I doubt the Trump admin will send that many more to South Sudan, but, not because a squishy judge said don’t do this
The Trump administration said it has deported at least eight violent illegal migrants to one of the poorest nations on Earth — with their crimes being so “monstrous and barbaric” that no other country apparently would take them, a Trump administration official told The Post Wednesday.
The migrants were put on a flight to South Sudan — a violence-plagued African country — over the objections of a federal judge.
South Sudanese officials have also objected to the flight.
Of the eight felons, only one is a native of South Sudan. The others are from Cuba, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar and Vietnam.
“We conducted a deportation flight from Texas to remove some of the most barbaric, violent individuals illegally in the United States,” Homeland Security said in an X post announcing the latest migrant removals.
Murderers, child abusers, one sexually assaulted a disabled lady. South Sudan says they haven’t landed yet, and would be deported to their home countries. Will the Trump admin send more?
Trump administration fined this low-income migrant $1.8 million
Wendy Ortiz was surprised to find out she was being fined by U.S. immigration authorities for being in the country illegally – but it was the amount that truly shocked her: $1.8 million.
Ortiz, 32, who earns $13 an hour in her job at a meatpacking plant in Pennsylvania, has lived in the United States for a decade, after fleeing El Salvador to escape a violent ex-partner and gang threats, she said in an interview and in immigration paperwork. Her salary barely covers rent and expenses for her autistic 6-year-old U.S.-citizen son.
“It’s not fair,” she said. “Where is someone going to find that much money?”
In the last few weeks, U.S. President Donald Trump has started to operationalize a plan to fine migrants who fail to leave the U.S. after a final deportation order, issuing notices to 4,500 migrants with penalties totaling more than $500 million, a senior Trump official said, requesting anonymity to share internal figures.
Reuters spoke with eight immigration lawyers around the country who said their clients had been fined from several thousand dollars to just over $1.8 million.
In other words, she’s living on the public dole, and has a final deportation order, as do others. And she doesn’t get to whine about fair. She’s been here illegally
The Trump administration plan, details of which were first reported by Reuters in April, include levying fines of $998 per day for migrants who failed to leave the U.S. after a deportation order.
The administration planned to issue fines retroactively for up to five years, Reuters reported. Under that framework, the maximum would be $1.8 million. The government would then consider seizing the property of immigrants who could not pay.
This is all based on a 1996 law which enacted this. But, do Los Federales actually expect to get the money? Surely not. This is an incentive for illegals to leave. They do not have to go to their home countries: they can go elsewhere. Go to Canada.
Both of these are meant to get illegals to self deport.

The left have been decrying the sending back of the not-quite-as-bad illegals, whining that they thought he was going to go after the ‘real’ bad guys first. OK, some real bad guys were deported; will the left weep and wail over them, too?
The truth is that, if they are here illegally, they’re all bad guys. Some are worse than others, but they’re all criminals.

MAGA47
There are 10s of thousands of gang members in USA
Please tell me the significance of the deportation of 8
There are probably 10000 MS. Gang members already in jail
Why aren’t they being reported by the 100s each day to El Salvador ?
I bet the owner of the meat-packing plant has $1.8 million!! Fine him. Then prosecute him for aiding and abetting an unlawful resident!! LOL. The U.S. prosecutes very few of the C-level execs hiring unlawful residents. Will Mr trump change that? He used to hire hundreds of immigrants to tend his greens, change the beds and serve the food at his resorts.
As Mr Dana undoubtedly knows, being in the U.S. unlawfully is a civil, not a criminal offense.
Why didn’t trump send the eight scumbags to the “Black Hole of San Salvador”? We pay tens of thousands of USD per prisoner.
