“Climate Scientists” Plan March On Washington Or Something

They apparently aren’t taking the orders to shut their mouths for the moment very well (hey, remember how government employees and the media freaked after Obama’s gag order? Me neither)

(UK Telegraph) Scientists are planning a march against Donald Trump after his administration enforced what is said to be a temporary media blackout on the Environmental Protection Agency.

The organisation’s social media accounts have been silent since Friday’s inauguration.

The new rules ban staff from publishing social media posts, press releases or blog posts and stops them publicising publicly-funded research. (snip)

Organisers of the Scientists March on Washington have stated they plan to stand up to the Trump Administration and organise marches across the country.

They wrote in a blog post: “Although this will start with a march, we hope to use this as a starting point to take a stand for science in politics. Slashing funding and restricting scientists from communicating their findings (from tax-funded research!) with the public is absurd and cannot be allowed to stand as policy.

There’s no announced date and time for the march, nor do we know who plans to take long fossil fueled trips to D.C., but, we know who can participate

Anyone who believes in empirical science. That’s it. That’s the only requirement.

So, that pretty much leaves the vast majority of the government funded “climate scientists” out of the mix, since the believe more in consensus than the Scientific Method. And, they seem to care more about being Social Justice Warriors than anything else

We will both have a diversity committee and a diverse steering committee that represents people of many backgrounds and identities.

Science is done by POC, women, immigrants, LGBTQ, indigenous people, people of all beliefs and non-belief. We hope that this diversity is reflected in both the leadership of the march and the march itself.

Oh, and they can’t figure out how to fix their header on the most basic of blogs, Blogspot, which is titled “Scientists’ March On Washington.” Yes, all bloggers make mistakes. I make plenty in my headlines, since, I so often forget to check them. But, I can fix them.

Can’t wait to see how many take fossil fueled trips.

BTW, apparently there are some folks working for the government who need to be fired

There is now also an unofficial National Parks staff Twitter account, which claims to be manned by Government staff.

They tweeted: “Can’t wait for President Trump to call us FAKE NEWS. You can take our official twitter, but you’ll never take our free time!”

So, not scientists, but Democrats protesting that their Democratic party agenda isn’t being promoted by the Trump administration.

  2. Jess says:

If you believe in empirical science, you’re qualified to march in a march that is supposedly composed of scientists? This leaves “having a pulse” the only restriction less than what they decided.

Well that and a pussy hat…

  4. Hank_M says:

With any luck, Trump will do what Reagan did with the air traffic controllers and fire em.

If they do march, I am a little concerned about what body part they decide to wear on their heads.

  5. If they attempt to do it in the next month or so, what’s the chance of seeing the Gore Effect?

  6. david7134 says:

Just get out there with a camera and take pictures and tell them that they are reviewing grants. I would bet there would not be a soul on the mall in about two seconds.

  7. Jl says:

Maybe they can wear the left-over vagina costumes from the other day and wail that “these may dry up if we don’t do something…”

  8. Rev.Hoagie® says:

I’m with davi7134. You’re either a scientist or a political activist but if your funding comes from tax payers you can’t be both. It is anti-ethical to be paid to march against people who are not willfully paying you. Now, if they’re really committed they can quit their jobs and become like the bus loads of “spontaneous protesters” usually seen at leftist marches and get bussed in with the rest of the Soros riffraff.

  9. Jeffery says:

What’s your gripe with their headline, “Scientists’ March On Washington.”?

    roflmao

scientists are PROVING they are totally political.

No real scientists would ever bother “marching”…

..they would be too busy doing science, even if in their mind.

Let me guess.. you have NEVER know any actual REAL scientists, have you.

You really do have a juvenile, ignorant mind, Jeffles.

  11. Jeffery says:

    55G Manboobs,

At least I know what “erstwhile” means.

Again, what is the error with “Scientists’ March On Washington”? Teach claimed the headline was wrong and should be corrected. It’s clear you have no idea. You believe scientists shouldn’t be politically active. Nonsense.

I talk with more dedicated scientists in a day than you have in your pathetic lifetime.

global warming is a computer simulation game. It is not Empirical Science.
