So the United States of Donny erected a naval blockade of Venezuela. Then started destroying some 68 “drug” boats on the high seas, killing over 200 persons. Then invaded Venezuela, kidnapping their president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, spiriting both away to the United States.
Then installed Maduro’s VP, Delcy Rodriguez, as chief, but claiming that Donny and little Marco were actually running the nation, which became a U.S. colony.
Recently (coincident with the 6 month milestone of the iran excursion AND gas over $4 a gal), Donny announced that the U.S. “made a deal” to “access” 65 billion barrels of oil from our new colony to replenish our oil reserve and cause a drop in gas prices (coincidentally, just before the mid-terms Donny is rigging!).
This deal is a new venture between the U.S. government and an “experienced private operator in Venezuela” – one Alejandro Betancourt López – whose fam controls Venezuela’s second largest private oil producer, North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP). Betancourt has been accused of corruption for years; Switzerland has investigated him for money laundering and has issued a warrant for his arrest.
Anyway, the plan is for the U.S. to back North American Blue Energy Partners to develop oil reserves in 17 of Venezuela’s oil fields. Donny is desperate. U.S. oil corporations have been slow to invest in Venezuela.
National security reporter David Rothkopf: “We are supposed to celebrate this act of aggression and theft that violates international law and that could well turn out to be a massive mafia-style shakedown scheme to benefit the anti-democratic forces in Venezuela and the US, the president’s friends and supporters, possibly the president and his family?”
