Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to attend the September 11th ceremonies, despite calls from some critics.

While the city has been preparing for a presidential visit on the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks, as of now, President Trump is not expected to attend.

Instead, the administration will be represented by Vice President JD Vance.

Trump is expected to commemorate the day at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and is expected to deliver remarks.

Giovanni Galante, whose wife Grace Catherine was among those killed by al-Qaeda terrorists on September 11, 2001, told the Post that Mamdani’s intention to attend the ceremony was “a slap in the face… Not because he is Muslim – because of who he supports. He represents values that are not ours.”

Florida real estate agent Galante was responsible for launching a petition last month, alongside other family members of those murdered on 9/11, calling for Mamdani to be excluded from the 25th-year memorial events on account of his association with extremism and refusal to condemn antisemitism.

According to the petition, concerns have been raised about Mamdani’s public positions, including a perceived reluctance to “clearly and unequivocally condemn phrases such as ‘globalize the intifada,’ which many interpret as endorsing or normalizing violence.”

Further, the mayor’s “associations with individuals whose public statements or records are viewed by family members as dismissive of American institutions or insufficiently critical of extremist ideologies,” the petition read.

Mamdani essentially takes the side of Hamas. If you do that you are on the side of Islamic terrorists. But, again, damned if you do damned if you don’t. I really wouldn’t be surprised if some of his hard left and Israel/Jew hating Comrades showed up to “protest” and cause problems on 9/11, though.

Hopefully a bunch of other big wigs in the Democrat party who are on Hamas’ side stay away. Will hard left nutters like AOC be at the memorial?

9/11 victim identified weeks before 25th anniversary of attacks

It has been almost 25 years since the Sept. 11 attacks on America rocked the country, but scientists are still trying to give closure to those families who lost loved ones.

Weeks before the quarter-century anniversary, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office announced that another person was recently identified, The New York Times reported.

It was the first identification in nearly 12 months.

The victim was an adult woman whose family did not want her name released. She is the 1,654th identification made since 2001.

While that seems to be a large amount, the job is not nearly done, as about 40% of victims of the 9/11 attacks have not been identified by name.

That seems wild to me that 25 years later the bodies are not all identified.
