I see one tiny little issue with all this
Trump Calls Climate Change a Hoax. Americans Aren’t Buying It.
Amid a summer of dangerous heat, drought, and floods, a majority of Americans are connecting increasingly severe weather to the climate crisis, new polling shows, despite efforts by President Donald Trump to dismiss global heating as a “con job” and a “hoax.”
Once you start with drought and floods, you know it’s a cult
It’s a sign that attempts to suppress and polarize climate concerns may not be seeing full success, said Grace Adcox, senior climate strategist at Data for Progress.
“We started with the question of ‘are extreme weather events increasing,’ because we thought [that] if we can find consensus on that, that can be an entry point to being able to have a more bipartisan conversation about climate and climate intervention,” she said.
About 61 percent of likely American voters believe extreme weather events have become more frequent over the past five years, the survey from the progressive polling firm Data for Progress, shared exclusively with the Guardian, found. That includes 72 percent of Democrats, 63 percent of Independents, and nearly half—46 percent—of all Republicans.
They can Believe all they want, but, most Cowboys fans think the Cowboys are the best, and they are all wrong. Belief is not science. Further, if so many Believe, then why are so few practicing what they preach.
Sheldon Whitehouse, the Rhode Island senator who has long criticized Democrats for quieting their talk of global warming—or “climate-hushing”—said the new data “adds to the mountain of evidence that the public is way ahead of the politicians on the dire consequences of climate change.”
Sheldon Whitehouse takes a boatload of fossil fueled private jet flights every year, so, maybe he should sit this out.
The researchers also asked participants about whether or not specific forms of extreme weather are being “worsened by climate change.” Majorities linked climate change to worsening wildfires (64 percent), droughts (63 percent), flooding and flash flooding (62 percent), hurricanes (59 percent), and severe thunderstorms and hailstorms (59 percent). But heatwaves topped the list, with 67 percent saying climate change is making them worse—including 48 percent of Republicans, the highest share for any of the extreme weather events surveyed.
But, none of them are getting more extreme. It’s a doomsday cult.

Amid a summer of dangerous heat, drought, and floods, a majority of Americans are connecting increasingly severe weather to the climate crisis, new polling shows, despite efforts by President Donald Trump to dismiss global heating as a “con job” and a “hoax.”

Every reference to Mad King Donny should contain “con job” and a “hoax.”!!!! And “cunt”, “fascist” and “dumbass”, LOFL!!!!
Donny will be gone in a couple of years (sooner if we’re lucky), and we’ll return to normal order. Buckle up MAGAts/FAGAts.
Debt: ~ $40 TRILLION
Interest: ~ $3 BILLION every fucking day
Warming: Continuing; droughts, floods, heatwaves, wildfires
Gasoline: $4 and rising
Electricity: Up 7%
Food: Up, up, up
Tariffs: Paid by the working class
Confidence: Down, down, down
18 troops: Dead
ICE: Untrained and deadly
Standing: Israel and Russia are our only ally
Straits: Both Hormuz and Bab-el-Mandeb (Red Sea), choked
Anyone who still supports Donny Dumbass is in a cult. His Diaper Changer Ms Harp should put him in a home.
Still on your period, Rimjob?
The Proud MAGA Motherfucker with his rhetorical questions…
Your Mother “needs” you.
Thanks, I need a good laugh this morning.
TDS is a beautiful thing to behold. Trump lives rent-free in you losers’ minds 24/7, and it’s good comic relief.
Or, maybe you’re just another f*kn bot, or a troll – doesn’t matter, you’re the same waste of O2 either way.
Have a super ROTTEN day, clown.
Oh, and Trump will step down once he’s done fixing all the crap your people broke.
Donny Dumbass the Corrupt better get started “fixing all the crap your people broke” soon. He’s running out of time.
What has he fixed so far? The debt? Immigration? Prices? Our alliances?
You’re in a Personality Cult. Who will you worship when He is gone?
TDS is a hideous illness
None of the weather has set new records. So, how is it worse than ever? Summers get hot. Winters get cold.
Can you supply examples?
The past 11 consecutive years rank as the 11 warmest years on record globally according to the World Meteorological Organization.
The contiguous U.S. recorded its warmest March in a 132-year history, with temperatures averaging 9.4°F above the 20th-century baseline.
Extreme precipitation events have surged, such as the unprecedented 12 to 14 inches of rain that triggered historic flash flooding in parts of southeast Missouri.
Stations across the U.S. now break daily record highs at a rate vastly outpacing record lows, with warm records dominating over 88% of tracking locations in recent years.

Not even the staunchest climate change deniers still deny that the Earth is warming. They argue “the cause”. They deny that CO2 is related to warming.
Heat waves are nothing new, Rimjob.
Who’s a denier?
Bwaha! Lolgfy Loser!
MAGA47 Motherfucker!
“On the record globally…”. As said before, there is no credible global temp record going back that far. In the 1800s only the US and Central Europe had any kind of total coverage. South America and Africa had hardly any coverage, and the oceans didn’t have ARGO coverage till about 2000
So Jl has returned to denying warming?
So does J continue to be unable to refute what I said?
For all of Tedious Teach’s and Dumbass Donny’s false blather:
“Majorities linked climate change to worsening wildfires (64 percent), droughts (63 percent), flooding and flash flooding (62 percent), hurricanes (59 percent), and severe thunderstorms and hailstorms (59 percent). But heatwaves topped the list, with 67 percent saying climate change is making them worse — including 48 PERCENT OF REPUBICUNS, the highest share for any of the extreme weather events surveyed.”
Who you gonna believe, Tedious Teach & Dumbass Donny or your lyin’ eyes? (That IS rhetorical, Motherfucker!). The people have spoken.
Our sage from the Central Time Zone wrote:
They have? Have they thrown away their electric clothes dryers and installed clotheslines? Have they rushed out to buy electric vehicles? Have they turned off their air conditioners and just gotten used to summertime heat?
It’s very easy to say you believe in something, but if you don’t actually do things to indicate it, why should I believe you?
Mr Dana exhibits the logical fallacy of “all or none” argument. Not doing everything is not the same as doing nothing. That’s how you know the anti-American Mr Dana is arguing dishonestly.
He ignored the FACT that Americans have reduced their per capita CO2 emissions by 30% in the past 20 years! It is still too high (U.S. CO2 emissions per capita are approximately 13.6 tons per person).
In the U.S., King Koal is on life support. CAFE standards, e-cars, hybrids, 4-bangers have all reduced CO2 emissions. Same with more efficient appliances, subsidies for insulation, energy saving actions and devices, insulated windows, industrial processes etc.
Compare this to China: China’s per capita CO2 emissions have increased from about 1.5 tons per person in 1978 to roughly 9.1 tons per person by 2024!
Overall, China emits 3-fold more CO2 than the US of A. China emits 33% of the the world’s CO2.
The top ten CO2 polluters are:
Share of World Emissions
China 33.1%; United States 11.7%; India 8%; Russia 5%; Japan 2.5%; Iran 2.1%; Indonesia 2%; Saudi Arabia 1.6%; South Korea 1.5%; Germany 1.5%
Ten nations currently contribute nearly 70% of global warming. (In the past, the US of A and Europe contributed most CO2 pollution. And since CO2 has a long atmospheric residence time we’re still on the hook.)
“Ten nations contribute nearly 70% of global warming. Now, if only there were way to verify that….
LOL. Did you really just type that??
Is there any verifiable evidence of Joseph Smith’s Golden plates, God, Allah, reincarnation, Vishnu/Shiva, body thetans? Do you “believe” any of these?
Jill,
It’s known how much coal, gas and oil are burned. It’s also known how much CO2 is produced when the fossil fuels are burned. Atmospheric CO2 is measured daily. The rest is arithmetic.
“Majorities linked climate change….”. What people “believe” has nothing to do with the validity of the argument.
Our esteemed host asks the pertinent question: ” if so many Believe, then why are so few practicing what they preach?”
How many Americans have done the simple thing I have done, and install a solar-and-wind-powered clothes dryer — yeah, it’s a clothesline! — in their backyards? It’s simple enough to do, costs less than a hundred dollars, and it makes your bedding smell wonderful.
How many Americans have done the simple thing I have done, and switched entirely to LED bulbs? The costs are way down, the bulbs use less sparktricity, and they are much cooler to use, reducing the chances of fire, and they can last for years. Four of the six LED bulbs I installed during our kitchen remodel of 2018 are still working!
Yet the couple of things I have done were not done to save Mother Gaia, but due to the other advantages!
If people who supposedly “believe” in
global warmingclimate change and believe that the government can somehow fight it aren’t willing to do those simple things, and have proven themselves unwilling to vote for such things — the Democrats no longer run on fightingglobal warmingclimate change because they know it loses votes for them — why would we ever think that they really believe what they say they believe?Mssrs Dana and Teach never back up their claims about others with data or evidence.
Do they KNOW that others have not cut back on their use of fossil fuels? Show the evidence.
Four cyl cars use less gas than V8s. Hybrids even more so.
Heat pumps are more efficient than A/C and gas systems.
Nucular power sources are more climate friendly. (until they melt down)
Small, well-insulated houses use less energy. Light-colored roofs, large deciduous trees, all help.
Eating less meat helps.
Driving less helps.
Teach is a liar and makes excuses.
Anyway, The People of the United States of America HAVE reduced their CO2 emissions about 1% per year for decades now. The good folk cut carbon dioxide (CO?) emissions, with total energy-related CO? emissions dropping about 20% and per capita emissions falling roughly 30% from peak levels. Despite Dumbass Donny and his ilk.
All this cutting during Repubicun regimes!
Mr Dana claims, “people who supposedly “believe” in global warming climate change and believe that the government can somehow fight it aren’t willing to do those simple things”
Yet, someone, somewhere, somehow has cut per capita CO2 emissions in the US of A some 30%!!
Is it possible that Mssrs Dana and Teach are wrong and that many people ARE making simple changes?
Americans says Americans disagree with Mother Jones on climate doom.
Mother Jones is right. I am never voting for Trump again.
Unless Donny asks you to. Who will stop him from running again? Death?
Oh, it’s Mother Jones… Yes there is climate change. If you look at the ice cores you will see there has been climate change since the dawn of time. Man-Made climate change, not so fast. The EPA has just rescinded its 2009 “Endangerment Finding” that carbon dioxide is causing global warming. Spoiler alert: The finding was a lie and had no science to support it. The usual suspects screaming about “children will die” and “the world is going to cook/melt/flood/name your disaster” are simply ignorant or lying. If you want to know more about them, visit BlueSky.

So yeah, it’s all about control, it’s a hoax, science is NEVER settled!!!
the Great AGW Hoax is dying a death of derision and laughter. They’ve been predicting the end of the world for some 50 years now and yet, here we are, still alive and kicking.
