Wake County Court Rules State Board Of Elections Violated State Law On Aliens Voting

Kind of wild that a pretty Dem court in Dem controlled Wake County, NC voted this way

NC court rules state violated law by allowing nonresidents to vote in federal elections

The Republican National Committee celebrated a recent court ruling Wednesday that determined the North Carolina state board of elections violated the state constitution by allowing non-residents to vote in federal elections.

The Wake County Superior Court sided with the RNC in the ruling Tuesday after the North Carolina Supreme Court ruled last year that people who have never lived in the state cannot vote in state elections.

The state stopped nonresidents from voting in state elections in the wake of the state Supreme Court ruling, but did not change its policies when it came to federal elections.

“This is a clear win for fair and lawful elections,” RNC Chairman Joe Gruters said in a statement. “The court upheld the North Carolina Constitution and made clear that only North Carolina residents can vote in the state. The RNC will keep fighting to ensure only eligible citizens can vote.”

Again, what happens is that Dems allow aliens, illegal or legal, to vote in local elections. Maybe county and state. But, they hold the local elections at the same time as federal, and, whoops, those ballots just happen to have federal positions on them, so, whoops, the aliens vote for Democrats federally. Along with getting more Democrats in local, county, and state positions.

Advocates rally at NC legislature to oppose potential ICE detention expansion

Dozens of immigration advocates, faith leaders and community organizers gathered outside the North Carolina General Assembly on Tuesday, urging state lawmakers to oppose any expansion of federal immigration detention facilities in the state.

The rally came amid concerns that the Rivers Correctional Institution in rural Hertford County could reopen. The privately owned prison has been empty since its federal contract expired in 2021. Organizers said they learned through a lawsuit filed by the ACLU of North Carolina and partner groups that GEO Group, which owns the facility, had proposed reopening Rivers as a detention center for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The protest was organized by the ACLU of North Carolina, Democracy Out Loud and the Southern Detention Center Coalition. Speakers called on lawmakers to publicly oppose any future detention expansion and to resist new facilities in the state.

These people care more about illegal aliens than US citizens and NC residents. Also, this is a waste of time, since the GOP utterly controls the NC General Assembly.
