A cumulative $79 trillion in wealth and income growth was redistributed from the bottom 90% of U.S. workers to the top 1% between 1975 and 2023.

For decades, GDP has been increasing much more rapidly than worker compensation, of course, meaning more of the “fruits of labor’s” improved productivity is redistributed “upward” the the political donor class.

Wealth and income inequality is reaching a critical juncture.

Why the increase in productivity? Computerization: Spending on IT, software, and AI tools gives employees faster, more efficient ways to work. Companies have streamlined operations, tightened workflows, and restrained new hiring while output remains resilient. Better tools (physical capital) combined with a more skilled, experienced workforce (human capital) naturally raise the amount of goods and services produced per hour.

But as an economy, we’re reaching the point where the working class cannot keep up. Last Tuesday we saw a ‘workers revolt’. The Dems need to recognize that fact.

Billionaire Nick Hanauer warned his fellow plutocrats 12 years ago that a workers’ revolt was inevitable unless we, as a nation, addressed the burgeoning inequality! Here we are. We had a peaceful revolt Tuesday. Pay attention.

The 52-year-old resident of Austin, Texas, had poured 20% of his net worth into Trump Media & Technology Group, convinced that a second Trump presidency would make him money.

The Misinformation Monitor newsletter rounds up international misinformation narratives, with a
Now, Jarzenske’s investment is down 88.5%, according to a Charles Schwab statement ?he showed Reuters on the condition that the dollar amount not be published.

He’s one of the buyers who, along with the rest of the firm’s outside investors, have collectively absorbed more than $2.2 billion in losses, according to a Reuters estimate. “It’s been very disappointing and ?difficult to watch,” said Jarzenske.

This begs the question: Should a United States President be running businesses “on the side” whose value depends on the president’s actions? Trump and his family have made several billions in USDs over the past two years.
