What’ Up With All The “Stock Up” Warnings?

I’m seeing these all over Twitter, and are even showing up in the media now

Japan — on November 2, the day its new Disaster Management Agency opens, the government asks ALL citizens to store food, water and toilet supplies for at least 3 days.. a full week if they can.. the reason is big earthquakes..

UK — the new “Be Ready” campaign tells families to keep 3 days of water, canned food, cash and a radio.. the radios are now SOLD OUT..

US — the Pentagon wants its bases on US soil to run at least 90 days with no outside supply.. their own power, water, fuel and comms.. the plan is called FORTRESS.. its spokesman says “Power is combat now”..

UK again — the head of the British Army, General Sir Roly Walker, stood in front of his soldiers at Catterick and told them “our nation is going to need you”..

Germany — every 18-year-old man gets a military service questionnaire.. skip it and the fine is up to €250.. the first fines have started..

Norway — a government press release, titled in plain words.. “3 things you must do to prepare for crisis and war”.. and this is its Self-Preparedness Week..

Huh

(The National News) The UK government has published guidance urging households to “be ready” in the event of a national emergency by stocking up on essentials and signing up for government support.

The new advice that households should ensure they could be self-sufficient for three days in an emergency was posted on a government website on Thursday, along with a written ministerial statement to Parliament by Security Minister Dan Jarvis. He also posted on social media about the campaign.

The UK has been facing threats from bad weather, drought and flooding, as well as AI and hostile activity from Russia and Iran.

So, why now? The Russia thing has been going on really since 2014. Bad Weather always happens. I guess the AI and Iran thing are newish. So, what’s with all these warnings? Does the Japanese government know something about earthquakes, or, is this just a warning, something similar to what people on the east coast and Gulf coast get right before hurricane season?

‘Panic Kills’: Dan Bongino Warns Americans to Take Stock Up Warnings Seriously

The former deputy director of the FBI, Dan Bongino, warned Americans on his podcast Monday to take heed of recent alerts from various governments, including the UK and Japan, to stockpile essentials amid threats of cyberattacks and rising geopolitical instability.

Bongino, a former Fox News personality who quit the FBI at the beginning of the year, urged people to have 30 days of food and water at the ready.

“There have been some warnings put out by the UK government and elsewhere about 30 days of preparedness and having food ready and power,” Bongino began, adding:

So, that goes on, but, as one commenter writes at the Yahoo version “Why don’t you tell us WHY we need to stock up and then I’ll determine if I need to take it seriously.” The UK gives Reasons, but, just basic, top level ones. Is this something serious, or, just generic?

(Newsmax) War Secretary Pete Hegseth unveiled the Pentagon’s FORTRESS initiative — Federal Operations for Resilience, Troop Resources, Energy, Supply, and Survivability — on Sept. 30.

The program aims to reduce military installations’ dependence on civilian infrastructure through portable nuclear reactors, battery storage systems, and independent electrical grids.

“Power is combat now,” Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell told Fox News Digital. “Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures.”

But, um, shouldn’t the Pentagon already be doing this? Hasn’t this always been part of their mission? Apparently not, at least that I can find. Weird. This is something they should have been doing at least since the end of the Cold War, but, maybe they just figured if the ball dropped no one would be worried about that stuff after a nuclear war. Not too be conspiracy minded, I guess we’ll find out if this is something or nothing.

    Another reminder from Big Mike…

    Don’t forget!

For whatever reason(s) the world “appears” less stable today than a few years ago.

The previous post WW2 alliances have broken down. NATO is on the verge of dissolution.

trump, Xi and Putin are talking about global spheres of influence. U.S. gets Western Hemisphere, Xi gets Asia, Putin gets Europe. All get to split African natural resources, again.

The U.S. is certainly less settled. Worldwide, the rich get richer, the poor get poorer.

Although there is “no verifible proof” that natural disasters are increasing in frequency and/or severity, the “feeling” is that they are.

    Wonder if it will work…
