Nearly 90% of Charlotte immigration court cases this year have ended in deportation
Immigration judges at Charlotte’s immigration court ordered more than 18,000 removals from January through August, more than twice the number ordered during the same period in 2024.
The Executive Office for Immigration Review data shows judges ordered 18,286 removals this year. That is up from 14,521 removal orders during the same period in 2025 and 8,840 in 2024.
The court completed fewer cases overall this year, 20,594, compared with 23,245 last year. But nearly 90% of completed cases ended in removal, compared with about 62% last year and half in 2024.
Only 203 cases resulted in immigrants being granted legal relief, allowing them to remain in the U.S.
Yeah, I suppose a few do have legitimate asylum cases, and it can always end up with more of those currently granted legal relief getting the boot in the future. What should be happening is that the minute they lose their case they are transported to a detainment facility and deported within days.
Houston immigration attorney charged in alleged mail fraud scheme
A Houston-based immigration attorney was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing money from over 100 victims, according to authorities.
Alla Nowowiejski, 44, was charged with mail fraud and making false statements, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas. Nowowiejski was indicted by a grand jury on both counts on Sept. 2.
According to the indictment, Nowowiejski is accused of accepting payments from clients under the pretense of providing legal services she allegedly never provided.
It’s wild how many immigration lawyers are being charged by state and federal authorities these days, but, the lax everything under the Biden admin enabled the rise of all these scams.
While that’s good, an even better method would be almost immediate deportation of anyone caught here illegally, and if they have a case to make, they can make it at an American embassy or consulate in their home countries.
