U.S. Announces Thousands of Arrests in New York Immigration Operation
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced Tuesday that immigration officials had arrested 2,197 people in New York State in about a monthlong operation, suggesting an uptick in arrests compared with recent months.
Speaking at a news conference, Mr. Mullin described the enforcement push as a response to the lack of cooperation from Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani on the federal government’s crackdown on unlawful immigrants, which it has named “Operation Rotten Apple.”
“Operation Rotten Apple was an operation we decided to take on because you have a very liberal-slash-socialist mayor here in New York City,” he said. “You have a governor that refuses to work with us.” (snip)
Homeland security officials on Tuesday emphasized that the operation was “not random enforcement” and that they were catching the “worst of the worst” criminals. But as ICE arrests have climbed in recent months, the agency’s operations have increasingly swept up immigrants without criminal records. A majority of the immigrants arrested in July were accused of violating civil immigration laws but had not been charged with or convicted of a crime, a New York Times analysis of federal data found.
Well, bummer, perhaps the Biden regime and the Democrat states and cities shouldn’t have been registering illegal aliens, which makes it super easy for immigration agents to show up where they are and detain them. And if the ones without serious criminal charges and convictions are scooped up, well, bummer, federal law says they should not be here.
At the news conference, Mr. Mullin was flanked by what appeared to be large mug shots with phrases such as “rape” and “kidnapping, murder,” and a Homeland Security news release said that those arrested in the operation included “murderers, rapists, pedophiles, drug traffickers and violent assailants.” But Mr. Mullin also indicated that some of those arrested in the past month may not have had criminal records.
“Regardless if you’re a criminal or not, if you entered this country and you cheated, you didn’t come in the legal way, because there are people entering this country every single day legally,” he said.
That’s it. There should be no further article. The law is the law.
In response to a follow-up message from The Times, the department did not offer further clarity. Ms. Hochul, speaking at an unrelated news conference Tuesday, cast doubt on whether the more than 2,000 people arrested in the operation had criminal records.
“There is no way that that number constitutes people committed crimes the way we consider a crime — a crime in New York State,” Ms. Hochul said. “They consider anybody who crossed the border a criminal, so don’t fall for that. That’s what I’m calling out. Do not fall for that.”
The law considers them a criminal and the penalty is deportation.
Mr. Mamdani, appearing alongside the governor, accused ICE of terrorizing immigrants and said the agency was criminalizing “the very act of being an immigrant.”
“We are proud as New York City to be a city that has sanctuary policies,” Mr. Mamdani said. “These are policies that used to be defended by Democrats and Republicans alike. These were policies introduced to ensure every New Yorker would feel comfortable coming forward to report crimes as well.”

There are an estimated 550000 undocumented living in NYC
2000 were arrested in 1cmonth.
At that rate 24000 in one year
At that rate it will take 23 years to deport them all
Of course this does not take into consideration the approximately 10,000 babies they will have each year all of whom will be American citizens
It seems that someone using an alias believes that if we can’t apprehend all of the illegals, it’s a waste of time, effort, and money to apprehend any of them. That’s like saying that if we can’t catch every murderer, we shouldn’t bother to catch any of them.
Clearly, then, we should reduce the state’s population for congressional apportionment by 550,000, because illegal aliens should not have representation!
Which is an argument for eliminating ‘birthright citizenship’ for the whelp of illegals. The President could not do so by executive order, but the 14th Amendment, Section 5, states “The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.” Congress can, and should, clarify that children born to two illegals do not acquire birthright citizenship.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Section 2.
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several states according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each state, excluding Indians not taxed.
By all means re-amend the Constitution. But didn’t Donny’s Supremes already rule on Amendment 14 Section 1? Anyway, Congress cannot amend.

Representatives in the US House, representatives represent ALL residents as they always have, clearly you want to change established standards. Until they are changed they remain applicable.
Until that is done birthright citizen all persons born in the USA will be natural born citizens of my country.

The 14th Amendment sec 2 also clearly states that the number of US Representatives shall be apportioned by counting THE WHOLE NUMBER OF PERSONS in each state. DId you miss taht part? or simply try to misinfornm others by omitting it?
