Any list that puts U2 in the top 20, much less 3, is a fail. Radiohead and Nirvana in the top 10? Who the hell are The Strokes, Wilco, Arcade Fire, Kraftwerk, Primal Sream, and Franz Ferdinand? I mean, I know there are a lot of bands, but, one would think a top 50 rock band would be easily known.
Public Enemy is a hip hop group.
Where’s Van Halen? Rush? The freaking Jimi Hendrix Experience? This list is so bad it hurts my head to type these words.

No offense, I wouldn’t put them in the top 50, but, I’d damn sure pick them over 21 bands on that list.

Rolling Stone has not created a list I’ve agreed with in several decades. Every once in a while they create a list of “best guitar” players, which is usually a joke.
My theory is they call in some 20-something intern and say, “Build a list of the top 50 X.”
Wilco is decent to good but nowhere near as great as the band it came out of, Uncle Tupelo.
A list with all the credibility of the “Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame”.

Anyway, choosing the “best” of anything is subjective. Who’s the best NBA player of all time? MJ, Larry Legend, Wilt, Bill Russell, Magic, Kareem?
