Strange: Big Cities Lost Lots Of Population After Immigration Crackdown

Now, why would all these “undocumented immigrants” leave?

Immigration Slowdown Hits Every Metro Area in the U.S., Census Shows

In the Laredo metro area, on the Texas border, immigration screeched to a virtual standstill.

El Centro, a metro that has historically served as a desert gateway into California, lost more people to other countries than it gained.

In Denver and its suburbs, the net immigration rate fell by almost three-quarters. In the Chicago area, it was slashed by nearly two-thirds.

Every metro area in the United States, in fact, experienced lower immigration rates during the year leading up to July 2025 compared with the previous year, according to new estimates released on Thursday by the Census Bureau.

In about 75 percent of all counties, overall population growth — including immigration, domestic migration, births and deaths — either slowed or turned negative. Only 25 percent grew faster.

Where did they all go?

Some of the strongest population gains came in suburban counties, especially in the South, which continued to grow rapidly as they attracted people from other parts of the country.

About 18,000 people moved into Pasco County, Fla., a suburban community about 30 miles outside Tampa, enough to increase its population by nearly 2.8 percent.

Unfortunately, some of this is simply urban liberals leaving the hellholes they voted for.

But for counties along the Mexican border, things looked quite different. In contrast to years when they experienced a surge in immigration, total populations in more than half of these counties dipped in the new estimates.

In Webb County, Texas, which includes Laredo, net international migration dropped by about 95 percent. It gained fewer than 700 people total in the new estimates.

So, the illegals and fake asylum seekers left and stopped coming? I think the reason is related to Orange

Some of those counties lost residents to other parts of the United States, a trend that has been ongoing for years. But immigration was a major driver of the decline. Net international migration across all those urban counties fell to about 932,000 from about two million.

Those new immigrants often required a lot of resources and assistance, said Julia Gelatt, an associate director at the Migration Policy Institute, a research center in Washington. “So some cities,” she added, “might be relieved to have a pause in those people who need initial assistance.”

Well, if they want to come to the U.S. then they need to make sure they can pay for themselves, not have the US taxpayers do it. This upsets Democrats quite a bit since they count on all these foreigners to vote for Democrats.

I have to agree with the sign at the top of the post. New Hampshire should deport bothersome Massachusetts immigrants back to Massachusetts because they keep trying to turn New Hampshire into a northern version of Massachusetts, the Pay State.

    “Mass(achusetts) Deportation Now!”

Strange…… The economy went to shit when migrants disappeared. Did our economy actually need those hard working military aged men?

On NYC the median rent rose to $5000 per month
In Brooklyn the median rent rose to $4200.
Inflation climbed to 4.2% up 30% from when Biden left.

Good News! The US national gas price average did not go up today but instead dropped 1 penny to $3.97.

Mr Teach types a lot of stupid stuff, e.g.: “This upsets Democrats quite a bit since they count on all these foreigners to vote for Democrats.”

MAGAts keep repeating this lie for two reasons. 1) As cover for their needing to rig elections and 2) as cover for their God-King’s losses.

    Only citizens can vote.

Yet, for some unknown reason, our socialist from the Show Me State is unalterably opposed to rules enforcing the laws which say that only citizens can vote. If only citizens have voted in the past, such regulations, there will be no impact on voting at all.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

We already have laws that make non-citizen voting illegal. The costs to a non-citizen caught voting are substantial, i.e., arrest and deportation!! Plus there is no verifiable evidence that non-citizen voting is a problem. So why does our apoplectic Appalachian want his God-King’s SAVE Act?

It requires voters to provide documentary proof of citizenship at the time of registration. This documentary proof can be a valid U.S. passport or a certified birth certificate. What about citizens whose name no longer matches their birth certificate – married citizens who assumed their spouses last name? Or people who changed their names? What further documentation would be required? Sounds like a hassle, no? How many citizens would just say no to the hassle and unConstitutional expense and also just say “fug it”?

Of course the federal government could supply every U.S. citizen with a voting card at no cost (other than taxes), but that would defeat the purpose of SAVE, which is to suppress the vote of the “other”.

Our Kentucky Kontrarian will argue that voting SHOULD require significant effort so as to weed out “less serious” voters. But then he argues that the United States was/and would be “better” if only white men with property could vote. He recognizes that his stance is unConstitutional.

We’ve offered one compromise before. Force every citizen to re-register in person with ALL the required documentation.

We have much, much, much more severe penalties for murder, yet murders still occur. Our good friends on the left are not asking for stiffer penalties for murder, but think that if they can put roadblocks into obtaining firearms, they might prevent some murders.

That is what the SAVE act is meant to do: not increase the penalties for cheating, but to make it harder to cheat.

Sounds like a hassle, no? How many citizens would just say no to the hassle and unConstitutional expense and also just say “fug it”?

Well, at least saying that potential Democrat voters might just give up out of frustration is better than the Democrats’ previous response, that many of their voters are too stupid to be able to get a valid ID.

Of course, given that voting for Democrats is a stupid thing to do, perhaps the lower intelligence of Democratic should be conceded.

Of course the federal government could supply every U.S. citizen with a voting card at no cost (other than taxes), but that would defeat the purpose of SAVE, which is to suppress the vote of the “other”.

But that’s just it: every state already does that, usually through their driver’s licensing division. Some states might charge a very nominal fee.

More, virtually every citizen already has such an ID: you need an ID for virtually everything! You cannot open a bank account without a valid photo ID, you (supposedly) can’t get welfare, or be admitted to the hospital, or drive a car, or buy a firearm, get a job, or any of a whole host of other things. It’s not the ID part that bothers the left, but proving you’re a citizen; that’s what bugs the party which wants to cheat at elections!

Well, proving you’re a citizen is easy: you can get a certified copy of your birth certificate from the vital statistics department in the county in which you were born, and it’s usually free. You can get that copy of your birth certificate usually within a week or so. I had to get one, many years ago, to get my passport, and my passport serves as sufficient documentation of being a citizen. My wife has her passport, in her married name, which is different from her birth certificate.

We’ve offered one compromise before. Force every citizen to re-register in person with ALL the required documentation.

I most certainly approve of this idea, though I am sure the Democrats would not: how could one of their greatest constituencies, the dead, reregister?

We have murders still, but little voter fraud. MAGAts are trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. Why? Not to suppress voter fraud but to suppress voters.

Mr Dana should read the proposed SAVE Act. Voter IDs are not the issue – many states require picture IDs.

Of course, given that voting for Repubicuns is a stupid thing to do, perhaps the lower intelligence of Repubicuns should be conceded.

Mr Dana doesn’t hide that he feels white christian males who own property are superior to all others and the United States would be better off if only those males could vote.

Recall too that the greatest threat to a United States election was when the Head MAGAt tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
