Obama pushes back on White House rhetoric, ape video: Decorum has ‘been lost’
Former President Obama argued in an interview published Saturday that American politics has become a “clown show” under the second Trump administration, suggesting that many Americans dislike the rhetoric coming out of the White House in recent months.
Obama made the comparison while addressing a controversial video posted on President Trump’s Truth Social account earlier this month that briefly depicted the former president and his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, as apes.
Trump has refused to apologize for the video despite strong bipartisan backlash. Instead, the White House blamed a staffer for “erroneously” making the post, and it was taken down. (snip)
Obama proposed that while that kind of rhetoric successfully draws people’s attention and serves as “distraction,” most people “still believe in decency, courtesy, [and] kindness.”
“There’s this sort of clown show that’s happening on social media and on television,” he said.
“And what is true is that there doesn’t seem to be any shame about this among people who used to feel like you had to have some sort of decorum and a sense of propriety and respect for the office, right? So that’s been lost,” he continued.
Now, look, I do think the video went to far, and was something that the POTUS should never have retweeted. But, Obama is the last person who should be talking about decorum. His whole political life has been dirty, though, he usually gets others to do the dirty work. Remember how he got elected in the first place, by releasing the divorce papers for his opponent, Craig Schelske, which also harmed Sarah Evans and their kids. He did not care. I used to have a long list of the people Obama smeared and ran over with his bus, but, I think I deleted that page when he left office.
How many times did he Blame Bush? He threw the Boston and Ferguson police under his bush. Netanyahu multiple times. The Dali Lama. How about being involved with the smears against Trump which caused Trump to run for office then the smears while Trump was running. The whole Russian crap? Referring to millions of American Tea Party members as “tea baggers”? Mitt Romney was going to kill your grandmother (among others)? And so, so much more. So, save me the crocodile tears. Obama is scum. Worse than the normal politician.
Oh, let’s not forget his lies about keeping your health plan and doctor if you like them. Suing nuns. Destroying the health system.
Obama has no one but himself to blame for this. He is one of the major causes of black fatigue. People are sick of the behavior of a large cohort of the black American population. Absolutely sick of it.
They’ve improperly accused people of racism so many times when it is clear that their own behavior is the issue, that people are numb to the accusation.

William whines: “Obama is scum”, after listing a string of supposed “scummy” actions by President Obama. But then William has suffered ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) like all Repubicuns for nearly two decades. Like most Democratic presidents (Bubba Clinton, Obama, Biden) Obama had to attempt to “fix” the economiic mess left by his GOPher predecessor. 21st century Repubicuns do not understand macroeconomics, still believing that taxes on the wealthy hurt America, while debt does not.

Teach is just upset that President Obama was popular, won two landslides (actual majorities!), is “half-black”, is smart, didn’t abuse women, wasn’t in the trump-Epstein files, was never convicted of even one felony, much less 34, had approval ratings as high as 69%, AND also won the Nobel Peace prize.

“Believe that taxes on the wealthy hurt America.”. We have one of the most progressive tax systems in the free world. Top 1% pays between 40-44% of the total federal income tax bill, the bottom 50% pays around 3%. We don’t believe taxes on the wealthy hurt America, we believe liberals can’t do simple math.
Federal personal income taxes = 48% of federal revenues.
Payroll taxes = 35%
Corporate taxes = 11%
In 2025 the U.S. spent $7.1 TRILLION but only collected $5.3 TRILLION!
Where does the spending go?
Department of War = 22% (military, veterans)
Social Security = 25%
Healthcare = 25% (we spend twice as much per person compared to other advanced nations)
Interest = 15%
Anyway, to balance that budget you need to either increase taxes or cut expenditures.
We last balanced the yearly budget in 2001.
