Only One House Democrat Voted In Favor of Voter ID to Prove Citizenship in US Elections
Only one House Democrat voted in favor of legislation that would require voter ID to prove citizenship in elections. The U.S. House of Representatives was able to pass the election integrity bill, despite opposition from all but one Democrat — a stark reminder why maintaining a majority in Congress is crucial for Republicans in today’s polarized political climate.
Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX)’s SAVE America Act, which seeks to keep non-citizens from voting in U.S. federal elections, passed 218 to 213 by the House of Representatives on Wednesday, and could go into effect as early as this November, according to a report by Fox News.
The only House Democrat who did not vote against the election integrity initiative was Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX).
The bill is an updated version of the initial Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which was never taken up in the Senate after being passed by the House in April last year.
In addition to requiring photo ID to vote in federal elections, the new version of the legislation also aims to establish a federal proof of citizenship requirement in the voter registration process, as well as mandate that states maintain voter rolls purged of ineligible individuals.

(Dallas Express) A Pew Research Center survey found that 83% of Americans favor requiring government-issued photo ID to vote, with 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats in agreement; only 16% oppose it.
Gallup polling indicated 84% support for photo ID requirements, including 98% of Republicans, 84% of independents, and 67% of Democrats. Separately, 83% back proof of citizenship for first-time voter registration.
Additional surveys from Napolitan News Service and The Center Square also reflect strong backing, according to the White House.
CNN reporter Harry Enten was quoted as saying, “The bottom line is this: Voter ID is NOT controversial in this country. A photo ID to vote is NOT controversial in this country. It is not controversial by party and it is not controversial by race. The vast majority of Americans agree.”

The objective is to Suppress, not Save the vote. How so?
Dem voters are more unlikely to have access to “Your Papers” to “prove” their citizenship. A copy of your birth certificate from your state costs about $25. And naturalization papers? Birth certificates do not register name changes – hello married women!
Research shows that more than 21 million Americans lack ready access to those documents.
Some 9% of Americans move every year and don’t update their driver’s licenses.

Do Senate Republicans have 60 votes. Highly unlikely! You need to pressure your Dem Senators to Suppress the vote, otherwise the Dems will win the House and Senate next Nov. It’s a heavy lift!

Then they are breaking the law! Every state requires that people update their addresses after they move, giving a specified period of time in which to get that done, anywhere from 30 to 90 days, depending on the state.
The Real ID law was passed 21 years ago, and it had all of these requirements, yet the left didn’t say anything about it, until these things might become mandatory to confirm eligibility to vote. Various laws passed following September 11th mean that you need s current photo ID to open a bank account, which is necessary for all of the Democrats on welfare and food stamps, and pretty uch a requirement to get a paycheck anymore.
Democrats do not want a system which might make it more difficult for them to cheat.
Funny, most countries of the western world require an ID to vote or to register to vote including those right wing countries of France, UK, Spain, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Italy, Iceland, New Zealand, Finland, Australia, Netherlands, Brazil, Poland, Austria, Luxembourg, Portugal, Czech Republic, Greece, Belgium, India, Jamaica, South Africa, South Korea, Israel, Ukraine, Bolivia, ect., totaling just under 120 countries. So they’re trying to “suppress the vote”, too? Got it

Many also supply voter registration free of charge. Should the U.S. supply voter ID to all citizens? Will the GOP Congress authorize the funding for a Federal ID? How about an ID tattoo?
Republicans are a political minority so they’ve made up the entire voter fraud dissimulation. They want fewer women, blacks, Hispanics and poor people to vote. The Mad King is afraid of losing the House and Senate so he’s working hard to rig the elections.

Will the Federal government take the responsibility (and expense) to get citizens the proper form? This is the richest, most progerssive nation on Earth. Surely, if the GOPhers want ID they will make certain it’s easy to get.

In short, the law prevented far more citizens from registering to vote than noncitizens. @@@

Senate Majority Leader Thune is on record denying he plans to change the filibuster rule, but his Mad King will find ways to pressure him, publicly and privately.
Does Thune have the cajones to withstand the King’s bullying? Thune represents South Dakota so King Donald could block all Federal funding to them, even clawing back previous funding. King Don could have his personal DOJ investigate Thune, his relatives, friends and South Dakota officials. He could send his ICE goon squad to round up some of the 25,000 “illegal” workers.
