Based on the background I’d guess it is either courthouse wedding day or local jail visiting day.

    Germany ! OMG
    p
They may freeze to death because of their refusal to buy Putin’s natural gas.

    Oh wait…
For residential electricity generation renewables wind and cloudy Germany solar BOTH rank ahead of fossil fuel generation

And yes German keh prices are high
    But
Germany is only paying about 8 cents per kwh from renewable current providers.

Germany has spent 500,000,000,000 pounds on net-zeroing their economy. They make 20% less electricity than before, and it costs 3 times as much. Good plan.

        Show your work, friend.

In 2025, Germany’s electricity mix saw renewables dominate, reaching nearly 60%, with solar overtaking coal and gas for the first time, though wind power experienced lower output, leading to a temporary increase in fossil fuels earlier in the year. Wind remained the largest source, but solar significantly grew (around 18%), while gas and lignite usage decreased, with overall clean energy reaching about 58-59% of demand, supported by modest hydropower and biomass contributions.

        Key Highlights:
Renewable Share: Renewables supplied ~58.5% to 58.8% of Germany’s electricity in 2025.
Solar’s Rise: Solar PV generated ~87 TWh, becoming a larger share (18%) than lignite and gas.
Wind Power Dip: Lower wind speeds reduced wind’s contribution compared to 2024, prompting increased fossil fuel use early in the year.
Fossil Fuels: Coal and gas still accounted for a significant portion (around 36%), but their combined share fell as solar surged.
Total Generation: Total electricity generation was around 437.6 TWh.

Statement from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell
    Chair Jerome H. Powell

“On Friday, the Department of Justice served the Federal Reserve with grand jury subpoenas, threatening a criminal indictment related to my testimony before the Senate Banking Committee last June. That testimony concerned in part a multi-year project to renovate historic Federal Reserve office buildings.

I have deep respect for the rule of law and for accountability in our democracy. No one—certainly not the chair of the Federal Reserve—is above the law. But this unprecedented action should be seen in the broader context of the administration’s threats and ongoing pressure.

This new threat is not about my testimony last June or about the renovation of the Federal Reserve buildings. It is not about Congress’s oversight role; the Fed through testimony and other public disclosures made every effort to keep Congress informed about the renovation project. Those are pretexts. The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of the President.

This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions—or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation.”
