If All You See…

…is a rising sea bumping up against the mountains, you might just be a Warmist

The blog of the day is The First Street Journal, with a post on Ford potentially trashing the entire F-150 EV line.

Hmm, looks like direct photo linkage is working again. If you can’t see it, an iframe version is below the fold

“We’re finding out that it’s hurting the union workers, it’s hurting air travelers, it’s hurting people who rely on food stamps. I mean, it’s hurting Democrats,” Feehery said. “Their higher priority is showing that they’re tough against Trump, and they’re more than happy to use their constituents as cannon fodder.”

The dems are beginning to cave.
Saw Chuck in the well declaring that Dems are now willing to end their shutdown if Republicans will grant a 1 year Obamacare extension.

    BWAHA! LOLGFY LOSERS!

Remember how commenter “H” used to tell us how great plug-in electric vehicles are? Ford suspended production of the F-150 Lightning, and other manufacturers are cutting back on their production of electric trucks.

Apparently, without government mandates and tax credit bribes from the government, very few people choose to buy the silly things.

320,000 Jeep Hybrids Must Be Parked and Not Charged

Jeep Hybrids are at risk of a “Thermal Event.” Jeep Warns 320,000 Owners To Park Outside After Samsung Battery Scare | Carscoops

“Thermal Event” is a journalistic weasel word for “one scary ass fire.”

In the US, a total of 228,221 Jeep Wranglers built for MY20-25 and 91,844 Grand Cherokees that rolled off the line for MY22-26 are caught up in a recall related to a fire risk. Only models with a 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain are a problem because the issue has been traced to the hybrid system’s Samsung battery pack

    .

Stallantis doesn’t have a fix. They HOPE to have a fix in December. Hope.

Until the fix is ready, Jeep owners are being asked to keep their electrified adventurers parked outside and away from garages, carports, or anything else flammable. They’re also being told not to charge them until the recall work is complete.

So from November 4th, until some date in the future, (December is the earliest) you basically cannot drive your Jeep. Model years are 2020 thru 2026 are impacted. So if you can’t drive it, do you still have to pay for it? Of course you do, and you will probably need a rental as well, which I’m guessing that your insurance won’t pay for either.

This is the second Jeep hybrid recall we’ve written about in as many weeks. Late last month, the brand issued a recall for almost 25,000 Wrangler 4xe SUVs after an OTA update gone wrong caused their hybrid systems to go haywire, in some cases losing drive altogether.
    The future is stupid.

Hat tip to MGUY Australia and his video Jeep RECALLS 320,000 Hybrids over risk of “THERMAL EVENT”. The video is 6 minutes.
