Comer unleashes on Biden, demands DOJ probe of autopen use in scathing new report
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., is demanding the Department of Justice (DOJ) conduct a “comprehensive” investigation into former President Joe Biden’s autopen use.
The committee’s GOP majority released a 100-page report on Tuesday morning detailing findings from its monthslong probe into Biden’s White House, specifically whether his inner circle covered up signs of mental decline in the ex-president, and if that alleged cover-up extended to executive actions signed via autopen without Biden’s full awareness.
“Faced with the cognitive decline of President Joe Biden, White House aides — at the direction of the inner circle — hid the truth about the former president’s condition and fitness for office,” the report said.
The report also detailed a “haphazard documentation process” for pardons made by Biden, which the committee argued left room for doubt over whether the former president made those decisions himself.
“In the absence of sufficient contemporaneous documentation indicating that cognitively deteriorating President Biden himself made a given executive decision, such decisions do not carry the force of law and should be considered void,” the GOP report said.
“The Department of Justice should immediately conduct a review of all executive actions taken by President Biden between January 20, 2021, and January 19, 2025. Given the patterns and findings detailed herein, this review should focus particularly on all acts of clemency. However, it should also include all other types of executive actions.”

In fact, the probe concluded with the need for answers to more questions than any appearance of a smoking gun.
More question! Actually, that’s a bad thing, because all those autopen signatures should be rather cut and dried, easy to understand. There should be no ambiguity.
The House Oversight GOP is citing, in part, this barrier to getting information from the witnesses as proof of an internal cover-up around Biden’s health. The committee chair is now asking President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice to look into each and every one of Biden’s executive actions, with Comer arguing the state of Biden’s mental faculties could not be accounted for at the time of signing.
“[B]arring documentation establishing a record of President Biden’s decision-making, the Committee deems void President Biden’s executive actions that were signed using the autopen,” Comer wrote in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi. “[A]nd the Committee determines that action by the Department of Justice is warranted to address the legal consequences of that determination.”
The request could prolong the administration’s crusade against some of Trump’s biggest political rivals, though the efforts to overturn Biden’s executive actions could be blocked by the courts. Presidents also have for years relied on the autopen to sign materials as a standard practice, and Biden has maintained that his decisions were his own.
The GOP wants to keep digging, which, let’s be fair, this is politics, and look what the Democrats did even before Trump was elected in 2016, and then continued when elected, and continued after he lost. But, I have to say, there may never be answers, because there will most likely never be an answer to the reality of Biden’s mental decline. I don’t care about his physical issues, because, really, he was old. The mental issues were and still are the issue. All the Democrats know it. Proving it? That’s the rub, and, most likely will never be solved.
How can Joe Biden be called to testify as to whether he personally authorized every single pardon of executive order when he’s descending into dementia?
This isn’t a nothingburger, but let’s tell the truth here: if the former President is not 100% competent to give testimony, how could anything ever be proved sufficiently to revoke any of his decisions?

Did you ever consider that the boats may be smuggling something else? Like fuel? Gas and diesel are subsidized in Venezuela and cost only 13 cents per gallon and $4 plus in other countries. That has a higher return on investment than smuggling drugs, with much less risk and easier sales. Trinidad is only 10 miles from Venezuela. Drug smuggling ?
