Thousands Return to Northern Gaza, Hopeful, but Faced With Devastation

Thousands of people continued to travel by foot toward Gaza City on Saturday as a cease-fire held overnight, but early accounts described devastation across the area.

“The scale of destruction is really staggering,” said Olga Cherevko, a spokeswoman for the United Nations’ humanitarian office, who visited the city this past week. “We have a lot of people moving north to Gaza City and arriving to find the ruins where their homes used to be, so there is a lot of conflicted emotion.”

Mediators hope the cease-fire will lead to the end of two years of war. For many of those walking a coastal road to the north of Gaza, the pause in fighting offered a chance to return to home and to learn what remains of their lives there. (big snip)

In Gaza, joy at the pause in fighting has been tempered by the scale of destruction that many face as they return to the north.

On Saturday, Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesman for Gaza’s civil defense emergency rescue service, said that 63 bodies had been recovered in the streets of Gaza City since the cease-fire began on Friday. He said he believed dozens more were probably under the rubble.

Yeah, well, Bassal has been credibly accused of being a member of Hamas, and, overall, the CDERS is run by the Ministry of Interior, which is wholly run by Hamas. Anyhow

If you drive a Ford Fiesta you shouldn’t challenge someone with a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport to a race. If you’re a casual guitar player like me you don’t challenge someone like Steve Via to a guitar duel. If you’re 14 and love basketball you don’t challenge LeBron to a 1 on1. Of course, all that happens is you get embarrassed and go home with your tail between your legs. If you live in Gaza and backed Hamas you get rubble. Watch this long video to see what the moron Islamists gave up with their foolish attack on Israel.

What they want is Israel destroyed and Jews killed

They do look healthy, eh?

What about all of those poor, innocent civilians living in Berlin and Dresden and Tokyo and Yokohama, at least those who survived? They too had to returned to find nothing but rubble and ashes when the war was over. But Germany and Japan had at least some chance of success, where Hamas did not.

This is a real lesson. World War II, the last war we actually won, was total war, war in which we destroyed Germany’s and Japan’s infrastructure and ability to self-govern, and didn’t really care how many civilians were killed. In Korea, in Vietnam, in every subsequent war, we tried to be nice, to avoid total destruction of the enemy, and what were the results?

Israel had done the same things, in 1956, in 1967, in 1973, and allowed the Arabs a ceasefire far, far too early.

Not this time! Under Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel didn’t care how many civilians were blasted and burned and bombed out of their homes, until even Hamas cried “Uncle!” He was helped by President Trump, who made it clear: the ‘Palestinians’ could accept the ‘peace plan,’ or he’d back the Prime Minister’s policies to send all of them to Jahannam. That’s how you win wars!

Good civilizations sometimes must roast babies, children, women and men to teach bad civilizations a lesson.

But, but, whatabout the phrase, “A riot is the language of the unheard,” a quote from a Martin Luther King Jr. speech?

We realize, of course, that Reverend King was a negro, so discount his words by 40% (2/5ths).

To his credit, President Trump boxed the ears of the reprehensible far-right Netanyahu. After all, Trump was under a tight deadline (Nobel time). And no one understands how an election can keep you out of prison more than Trump!

The war may have ended, for now. But as long as the Palestinians are “unheard” the troubles will continue.
