It is a profound and ridiculous contradiction, then, that many who profess faith in a benevolent, all-powerful creator are so vehemently opposed to abortion. They worship a God they believe intentionally designed this very system — a biological Rube Goldberg machine of suffering where the miracle of a large brain and an upright posture is paid for by a flood design of the birth canal, a lethal bottleneck that has claimed billions of mothers and infants. To then claim that this same designer holds each pregnancy as an inviolable sacred plan is to sanctify a process of breathtaking cruelty. Their outrage is directed at the human attempt to mitigate a danger that their own God, by their logic, engineered into the very fabric of creation.+++
