Democrats Believe Car Jacking And Illegal Alien Criminals Do Not Matter To Americans

Well, I mean, if they’re unhinged and suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome they might believe that neither happens, but, for the rest?

Migrant crime and carjackings ‘don’t matter to that many Americans,’ left-wing think tank VP tells Democrats

A speaker at the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) summer meeting on Monday urged Democrats not to copy President Trump’s tough-on-crime approach – arguing that migrant crime, carjackings and other public safety threats “don’t matter to that many Americans.”

Insha Rahman, the vice president for advocacy and partnerships at the Vera Institute of Justice, made the shocking statement as she framed Trump’s Washington, DC, crime crackdown as a “huge opportunity” for the Democratic Party.

It’s amazing how many Democrats have these BS jobs in advocacy and stuff

“You want to talk about the crime issues voters care about,” Rahman explained to Democrats, as she shared the results of a recent poll commissioned by Vera’s political advocacy arm, showing which types of crimes respondents believe will most impact them personally.

The poll from the George Soros-funded think tank showed gun violence at the top of the list (36%), followed by homelessness and public drug use (34%), muggings or assaults (34%), opioids and fentanyl abuse (31%), retail theft (29%), carjackings (29%) and migrant crime (28%).

“Where does Trump go?” Rahman continued. “Migrant crime, carjackings, the really lurid, awful stuff that is a crazy, crazy visual.”

Well, yeah, shootings in Democrat run cities will be noticed when you poll Democrats in Democrat run cities, because they have lots of them by Democrat voting criminals.

“Don’t take the bait because most Americans are more worried about how we are going to address mental health issues, the visible homelessness that we see on streets, and how do we deal with mental health and other issues that drive the sort of random incidents that scare all of us – that’s what you should be talking about.”

Even though nearly a third of Americans, according to Vera’s own polling, expressed concern about the “lurid” crime Rahman accused Trump and Republicans of hyper-focusing on – she implored Democrats not to talk about those issues.

“Don’t take the bait and talk about migrant crime or carjackings or the things that actually don’t matter to that many Americans,” Rahman said.

Instead, she wants Democrats to talk about all the things that have worked so well, like cashless bail. And the policies that create all that crime in Dem cities. Did you know that D.C. cannot charge those under 16 years old with most felonies, except the worst of the worst, which is why you see so many 13, 14, and 15 year olds stealing cars and carjacking, among other felonies?

These people are seriously out of touch, which is why they lost and why their polling is so darned low. I hope Dems take her advice

Operation Let Democrats Talk is working like a charm.

  2. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Of course Democrats are concerned about crime, which BTW, has been falling since the late 1980s. If you feel that a federal police officer with an M4 on every corner is the answer you’re not thinking clearly.

    Here are the solutions:

    1. Jail all sociopaths and psychopaths – until they die in prison of natural causes or are murdered by other inmates – since they are incurable.

    2. Strive to make America more economically fair. Addressing: Jobs, compensation, healthcare, housing, aid for those who cannot care for themselves. The rapidly expanding gap between rich and poor is unsustainable. Proceed at our own risks.

    3. Support education: Preschool, K-12, work-study, trade schools, college, universities.

    4. Support comprehensive immigration reform. (see GOP Sen Lankford).

Mr trump is appealing to your worst instincts: short-sightedness, hatred, bigotry, selfishness, cruelty, dishonesty, anti-Christ-like behaviors.

Dictators like trump, Hitler, Mussolini, Amin, Putin, Mao, Kim etc always need enemies to focus their followers. Mr trump is not stupid, just single-minded. For him it’s dark-skinned immigrants, LGBTQs and Blacks to appeal to your fears and nativism – very visceral responses. He also appeals ‘intellecutally’ – sort of – attacking information itself – education, universities, research, science and scientists, judges and courts and of course, the press.

Actually, he’s more correct than sensible people would want to believe! Look at the people protesting President Trump’s law enforcement actions in Washington: the protesters are the blacks who are afraid that enforcing the law will wind up putting their sons and cousins in jail, and the well-to-do white liberals, living in nice neighborhoods, such as one of our friends in St Louis County, who are very rarely the victims of violent crime.

    • Elwood P. Dowd says:

The often astute Mr Dana supports Mr trump’s federalization of the Army to ‘police’ black neighborhoods across America. Who are we to question their motives?

But is this a long term solution or just another trump gimmick? Anyone? Do we expect Mr trump to have federal troops ‘policing’ Louisville, Memphis, New Orleans, Miami, Birmingham, Nashville, Dallas, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Tampa, Houston, Little Rock, Tulsa, Mobile, Atlanta, Charleston, Raleigh, Tucson, Phoenix, Palm Beach, Anchorage, Cincinnati, Indianapolis etc in perpetuity? Wouldn’t our tax dollars be better spent on restoring local police departments long-term rather than the GOP’s defunding.

The likes of Mr Dana argue that blackness = street crime while ignoring the correlations between poverty, housing shortages, educational inequality, income, wealth, hope, employment opportunity, transportation shortages to street crime. He also ignores white collar crime that costs Americans several fold more than street crime!!

The long-term economic health of the United States is in danger. And immigrants, even illegal immigrants, are not the cause. Street crime is not the cause. The rapidly increasing gap in income, wealth and hope between the working class and the pampered leisure/poliical donor class is a more significant issue. Are we addressing that at all?

“the correlations between poverty, housing shortages, educational inequality, income, wealth, hope, employment opportunity, transportation shortages to street crime”

Only seems to hold for black and slightly less for Hispanic neighborhoods.

There was a time that the poorest neighborhood of San Francisco was Chinatown. But it had virtually no crime.

        The distinguished Mr Dowd wrote:

Mr Dowd has read that into what I have written, but I have never said that I support the President’s use of the National Guard in such a manner.

Wouldn’t our tax dollars be better spent on restoring local police departments long-term rather than the GOP’s defunding.

That sounds all well and good, but what good will it do when the local prosecutors and city governments mostly forgive the crimes theire cities suffer?

Americans are little concerned about white collar crime, because it rarely affects them.

Perhaps Mr Dowd is unaware of it, but I grew up poor, very poor, yet I never went out and robbed a liquor store. More, if I had committed such crimes, the neighborhood wouldn’t be clamoring that I was really a nice guy, simply disadvantaged, and should simply be let go.

        • drowningpuppies says:

Don’t you just love the assumption by Rimjob that a personal choice to commit a crime is somewhat excusable because of a poor economic background.

          Such a putz.

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

We’re pleased that Mr Dana opposes trump’s use of the Army to police citizens.

White collar crime affects us all. Trilions of USD taken out of the economy outside our regulated capitalist system has to come from somewhere. Healthcare costs are higher, loans are more expensive, groceries cost more…

I also grew up dirt poor but in the Missouri Ozarks. Lots of beans and cornbread, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken on Sundays, no vacations, public schools etc.

But the lives of white kids, even poor ones, is different from the lives of black kids herded into city barrios with fewer options.

Poverty increases violent victimization: Individuals in poor households have significantly higher rates of violent victimization than those in high-income households. In a 2008–2012 Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) analysis, the violent victimization rate for poor white individuals was 46.4 per 1,000, compared to 43.4 per 1,000 for poor Black individuals.

The “racial invariance” hypothesis: Social science research supports the idea that poverty’s impact on crime is “racially invariant,” meaning it affects crime rates similarly in both white and Black communities. Policies that reduce economic deprivation are expected to reduce violent crime in both poor white and poor Black neighborhoods.

Rural vs. urban poverty: The BJS study from 2008–2012 found that poor households in urban and rural areas experienced similar rates of violence. However, urban areas had higher violent victimization rates than rural areas for low-, mid-, and high-income households.

Concentrated disadvantage is a key factor: Predominantly white communities are less likely to experience the extremely high levels of concentrated poverty and disadvantage seen in some minority communities. Where such extreme poverty does occur, it leads to social disruptions and higher crime rates.

Crime is down, one reason is that these cohort that commits most crime is declining
Sensationalism and scapegoating and crime reporting are increasing.the states with the highest crime rates, murder rates, and incarceration. All of those things have a direct correlation to poverty and poor education which also are grossly manifested in Red States. Apparently incarceration increases crime, not decreases it

    • david7134 says:

      John,
It is their business same problem you have with climate, you have no idea as to what you are talking about. Every point is wrong. Crime is down due to a lack of reporting. It is still as high as ever. Did you learn something in prison.

  8. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Based on reporting from late 2024 and mid-2025, here are some cities with notably high violent crime rates.

Memphis, Tennessee (red): Often ranked highest for violent crime per capita, with aggravated assaults, robberies, and homicides cited as significant issues.

Detroit, Michigan (blue): Frequently listed among the most dangerous cities, with high rates of violent crime, including homicide.

St. Louis, Missouri (red): Notorious for one of the highest murder rates in the country, contributing to its high violent crime ranking.

Baltimore, Maryland (blue): Has struggled with high violent crime and homicide rates, though some recent reports indicate a downward trend.

Little Rock, Arkansas (red): Has appeared on lists of most dangerous cities due to high violent crime rates, including a high murder rate.

Kansas City, Missouri (red): Records a high violent crime rate driven by aggravated assaults, murder, and gun violence.

Cleveland, Ohio (red): A consistent presence on these lists due to high violent crime rates, including aggravated assault and robbery.

New Orleans, Louisiana (red): Known for challenges with violent crime, including robberies and carjackings.

Why did trump choose DC, Chicago and NYC as test cases for his national police state? Why did the One Big Beautiful Bill Act defund local police, while wildly funding federal police?

Surely even our demagogic Democrat realized that, as soon as he posted that, people here would notice that the most dangerous cities in those red states had Democrats for mayors, and mostly Democrats running the rest of the cities’ governments.

  9. ruralcounsel says:

Educational inequality is a manifestation of black cultural disrespect for education in their neighborhoods and families. They have a ghetto culture that glorifies crime and gangs for the men, prostitution and out-of-wedlock births for the women. A general feeling of entitlement to government subsidies of their lifestyles. Listen to the wailing about SNAP no longer covering soda, candy, and other junk food.
