That’s so mean! The people will be missing out on kilowatts of power when the wind is blowing
Trump administration halts work on an almost-finished wind farm
The Trump administration has ordered companies to stop construction of a wind farm that’s being built off the coast of Rhode Island.
The acting director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Matthew Giacona, wrote in a letter to one of the developers, a Danish firm called Ørsted, that the government was halting work on the almost-finished project in order to “address concerns related to the protection of national security interests of the United States.” The project is also being developed by Global Infrastructure Partners.
We couldn’t find a US company to do this with all that taxpayer money?
The order to stop work on the Revolution Wind project is the latest move by the Trump administration targeting the country’s renewable energy industry. President Trump, a longtime critic of the wind industry, in January issued a moratorium on new development of offshore wind projects. The Internal Revenue Service recently put out new guidance that makes it harder for companies building wind and solar projects to qualify for federal tax incentives. And the Commerce Department is investigating whether imports of wind turbines and their components threaten national security.
Well, that story doesn’t delve to much into that last part
(The Hill) “On August 13, 2025, the Secretary of Commerce initiated an investigation to determine the effects on the national security of imports of wind turbines and their parts and components,” says the notice.
It does not explicitly lay out the reasons for or evidence behind the probe, and the Bureau of Industry and Security did not immediately respond to questions from The Hill.
But the administration requested information from the public on topics including the role of foreign supply chains, the impact of foreign government subsidies and predatory trade practices and whether there’s any ability to weaponize foreign-built wind turbines and their parts.
How many of the parts, including the computers and electronics, are coming from China, with all sorts of bad code?
Anyhow, there were actually lots of protests, and lawsuits, from the local people over this wind project. Not that the powers that be gave a damn about the stupid peasants.

I would have cared more about this but I remember the Biden administration canceling valuable projects on day one.
