    Disabled Veteran, a US Citizen, Taken During Camarillo Raid

    CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) — Concerned family members are desperate for answers after they say a disabled U.S. veteran and citizen was taken during a federal immigration raid at a cannabis farm in Camarillo.

    George Retes, 25, works as a security guard at Glass House Farms, where the raid took place Thursday. His sister and wife told Eyewitness News that he was trying to leave the area as tensions escalated between federal agents and protesters.

    They say they saw AIR7 footage of the scene and were able to see his white vehicle.

    “ICE thought he was probably part of the protest, but he wasn’t; he was trying to reverse his car,” said his sister, Destinee Majana. “They broke his window, they pepper-sprayed him, they grabbed him, threw him on the floor. They detained him.”

    The police department, sheriff’s department, and numerous county officials all say that they don’t know where he is. A full investigation remains ongoing. There are a few locations in or near Ventura County where ICE has been known to take people they’ve abducted.

    ICE operates like a rogue paramilitary, shuffling detainees like pawns between jails and detention centers, ensuring that families and attorneys are always one step behind.

    George wasn’t even part of the protests that flared up when ICE invaded Glass House Farms. He was doing his job—working security. But ICE doesn’t need cause anymore. They saw a brown-skinned man, decided they didn’t like the way he looked, and treated his military service and citizenship like a clerical error they could correct with handcuffs and brute force. This wasn’t law enforcement. This was a rogue agency acting like the Gestapo, punishing the public for existing while Latino.

    Disabled U.S. veteran and citizen, George Retes, 25, was kidnaped by masked, armed thugs during a federal immigration raid at a cannabis farm in Camarillo. His family still has no knowledge of his whereabouts. How is this not facism? We must tell it like it is.
