Well, hey, way to burn that bridge, Stevie. Think this will help with future big employers?
(Rolling Stone) During the final episode of The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert purposely used copyrighted music during a segment, a move that could potentially cost his former bosses at CBS a lot of dough if the music was unauthorized, and the usage were to end in a lawsuit.
“Peanuts is a powerful brand and corporation in and of itself. Anyone illegally using that music is going to have to pay through the nose,” he said, before addressing his band leader, Louis Cato. “Louis, Louis! Is the band right now playing the same Peanuts music I just said people were being sued for, for using without permission? Is that what you’re doing?” The band was indeed launching into the familiar Vince Guaraldi song. “Oh no, I hope this doesn’t cost CBS any money!” Colbert said.
LOL, that’s totally a funny gag, Steve-O, costing your employer potentially millions….oh, wait, does he know they can hold the final paychecks of himself and the band members after this stunt in lei of the potential cost of playing that music? That they can garnish those wages and any future residuals? That they can sue to recover the money that the employ cost them while he was still and employee?
As for the band, did Steve-a-doodle consider that they weren’t making the $15 million a year like he was, and could now have much harder times getting jobs, with future employers knowing that they willfully engaged in behavior that cost their employer lots of money? Good job, Steve-a-rooney! But
So, it was potentially all just a scam from Colbert? Huh. Surprise?

Buh buy, idiot.
Sorry to have missed it.
