I was involved in a conversation yesterday regarding seriously underrated guitarists, and one who was brought up was Gary Richrath of REO Speedwagon. The guy played some seriously awesome stuff, be it solos or rhythm. And such a unique sound. This is my favorite
A goodly chunk of his sound came from his vintage Les Pauls and Marshall amps. Not really foot pedals, so, pretty cool
And here’s pretty cool metal from Babymetal. I mean, they’re simply singing about loving chocolate but having to watch their weight
It’s like the old meme about Ronnie James Dio: “Sang about rainbows and magic. Still metal.”
Lastly, I love watching reaction videos for yutes who’ve never seen older stuff, love this one, they’re losing it

My favorite Les Paul player……………..
Saw REO at Poplar Creek 1987
Awesome. Saw them during their 1982 tour, unbelievable awesome, even in the not so great sounding Brendan Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands
That audio doesn’t seem to match the video. And Kevin Cronin is a total libtard douchebag TDS sufferer.
Saw Speedwagon twice. To this day, Cranking up Little Queenie (with Gary + Boots Randolph) puts a big smile on my face–at 80dB+, of course.
As a corporate band, Baby metal members don’t need to watch their weight. They are instantly replaceable by 10,000 young women who look and sound just like them.
