Donny “Stolen Valor” tRump says he was at the site on 9/11 and two burly fireman picked him up and carried him away so he wouldn’t be crushed!! Trump stated he was near a building “creaking, really creaking” which he named the United States Steel Building. Fact-checks and location analysis note that the closest matching structure to that description is One Liberty Plaza, which sits directly east of the original World Trade Center site. Trump claimed that firefighters physically lifted him under the arms and ran with him to safety out of fear that the nearby structure would collapse!
Trump claimed at a 2016 rally and during a 2019 bill signing that he was “down there” at Ground Zero helping clear rubble and spending a “lot of time” with first responders. Fact-checkers and retired New York fire officials found no evidence or record of him participating in rescue or recovery work, noting he was not at Ground Zero in the capacity claimed. He stated that he lost “hundreds of friends” in the collapse of the Twin Towers. No evidence or list has ever been provided to substantiate the loss of hundreds of personal acquaintances in the tragedy.
And of course he saw Muslims cheering the attack! News archives and local authorities confirmed there was no evidence of mass celebrations by Muslim-Americans or any other groups in New Jersey.
