Patrick Ruffini says it best: some well-meaning folks are letting old school credentializing get in the way of confirming a real-world conservative who would move the Court in the right direction. We know little about Harriet Miers and her judicial abilities. We do not know how she has ruled, since she never sat on the bench. We do know that President Bush has worked with her for 5 years in the White House. Now, Bush may not be a conservative on domestic issues, but, I suspect that his pick of Miers goes to his #1 priority: getting another person who will not legislate from the bench on the bench. "Is it Constitutional?" should be the one and only way of ruling. No feelings, no agendas. I’ll trust that Bush has picked that type of person, and just chill.
How else to chill? Mark at Blogs for Bush writes: "Remember that little thing you’re supposed to be doing every day – its called "living". This is where we fail to act like Kossacks, DUers and other assorted lunatics and don’t live and breath politics every minute of every day." How true.
I have avoided the nuts at the DU, Kosbat, ACT, MoveOn, for over a month now, since Hurricane Katrina and the insanity the Left brought. Why bother. They are just getting "progressively worse." Why read what insane people write?
So just chill, and wait for the hearings.
