And global sea levels have risen about nine centimeters – very close to the eight predicted by the U.N. report.

The rate of increase has more than doubled over the past 30 years. There is no scientific reason to expect the rate to slow.
9 centimeters = 3.54431 inches, over 30 years. So, by 2100, we should see global sea levels rise 8.860775 inches. I admit to not seeing how this constitutes disaster.
