Young Climate Cultists Leave Class To Protest Or Something

I don’t know what happened during your school days, but, if we tried to bolt school we’d be stopped and our parents called, no matter how many were involved. Why can’t these snowflakes protest after school, or on the weekends?

Students leave class to raise awareness about climate change

Across the globe, thousands of youth skipped class Friday as a way to call action to the world’s climate crisis.

It’s called, “Climate Strike” and is part of Fridays for Future. The movement was started by environmental activist Greta Thunberg in 2018.

“The response on a governmental level does not match what we see happening,” Chloe Johnson said.

Johnson is a junior at Central High School. She said Omaha needs to do more when it comes to the environment.

“We do have a goal of clean energy by 2050 but that doesn’t really get us prepared for the effects that are already happening and going to happen,” Johnson said.

Jobman wants everyone to push for change through their lawmakers.

“Call you representatives. Call your senators. Call the mayor,” Jobman said. “We need to change something now and if we don’t we’re all going to pay in the future.”

The cultists want everyone to call their representatives to force their beliefs on everyone, failing to understand the limits it would place on their own lives, how much it will cost them, and how much freedom they’ll lose. In a  sane world they’d be taught a lesson by their parents and schools, removing all the things the youths are whining about. It’s be hilarious if a Skeptic in the Utah legislature pushed a bill that would require schools to turn the thermostat way down on cold days and way up on hot ones. Stop running school buses. No class trips. No meat allowed in schools. And more.

This whole thing is elitist

The top-selling new vehicles in the U.S. are Ford F-150s, Dodge Rams and Chevy Silverados. Who knew so many Americans needed work trucks. What do you bet the average drive-away cost of these trucks is near $47K?

Some F-150 owners do use them as work trucks!

But you’re right about one thing: a lot of the full-sized trucks being purchased are not being used as work trucks. Nevertheless, that people are buying them indicates that people want them, for whatever reasons they have. If you can afford to buy a new F-150, you can afford to buy a lower-end plug-in electric; that new F-150s greatly outsell new plug-in electrics tells you that most of the people who can afford plug-in electrics don’t want them!

Our esteemed host has pointed out the cost of a new, “budget friendly” Polecat is $47,000. The Chevy Dolt is less expensive, around $33,500, but there are many smaller, new cars which cost a lot less than that. Kia lists new 2022 vehicles in the low $20,000 range, and a couple in the $19,000 range.

Of course, 74% of all personal vehicles sold in the United States are used vehicles, because those are what they can afford.

I may have missed some but the only EV KIA I find is the KIA EV6 STARTING at $40,900.

    • My darling bride — of 42 years, 10 months and 8 days — is, sadly enough, a mostly liberal Democrat, but she has several times stated that she’d never buy a plug-in electric, not with today’s technology. She very much likes SSG Pico’s 2018 Prius Hybrid, and it’s about 50 MPG, though she’s no fan of the dash, because it sits a bit too high for her 5’0″ body. (I like to tease her that she’s 4’11¾” tall, but she’s really 5’0½”.)

She was looking to buy a new Prius Hybrid, but with the shortage of new vehicles, she’s waiting until that eases, hoping for a more reasonable price.

    • And here’s what the F-150 Lightning costs!

The listed prices for some of the versions are higher than what I paid for a non-fixer-upper house just 3½ months ago.

It all started with the “Age of Aquarius”. I was there. I had no clue as to what the F**k was going on then. About that time, I became a country boy, with chores like building/fixin’ fence, shoveling cow manure, and growing up. Seems like some folks got off on the wrong track.
