Your Fault: West Coast To See More Blackouts And Energy Price Spikes From ‘Climate Change’

If only those people in California, Washington, and Oregon gave up their fossil fueled vehicles and drove EVs, took the bus, walked. Gave up meat, moved into tiny homes. Gave a large portion of their income to the government

Climate change will likely worsen West Coast blackouts and cause energy price spikes, studies find

A pair of recent studies suggest West Coast residents and businesses will suffer more frequent blackouts and higher electricity prices because climate change will lead to more disruptive extreme weather events. The research papers were published in the scientific journal Earth’s Future.

Wait, “suggest”? They don’t know? Then why are they putting out studies?

“The impacts of climate change and extreme weather events on the grid, mostly in the form of drought and heat waves, are going to get worse under climate change,” co-author Jordan Kern, assistant professor of forestry and environment resources at North Carolina State University, said in a statement about the reports. Kern’s co-authors included professors of environmental science and engineering from the University of North Carolina, Oregon State University and the University of Washington.

In one study, computer models projected the West Coast electricity grid’s reliability between 2030 and 2060 under 11 different climate change scenarios, based on the trajectory of greenhouse gas emissions and how much warming results. The researchers found more likelihood of blackouts in summer and early fall, largely driven by extreme heat in California causing increased demand for air conditioning. (West Coast states have interconnected power grids, so Washington and Oregon could be affected by California’s demand.)

All from a whopping 1.5F increase in global temperatures since 1850? It couldn’t have anything to do with replacing reliable, dependable, affordable energy sources with non-reliable, non-dependable, expensive ones, could it?

Although the researchers predicted only brief blackouts, they noted that a growing imbalance between supply and demand for power during heat waves would cause prices to spike up to California’s legal cap of $1,000 per megawatt hour. “When prices go up to $1,000 per megawatt hour, that’s the grid ringing the alarm bell,” Kern said.

These would be the rolling brownouts and blackouts due to a lack of reliable energy that are happening right now, right? We can solve this if you give your freedom, liberty, consumer choice, and money to government, though.

No, they will have more frequent blackouts and higher electricity prices because of closing down actual working electricity supplies because of Climate Change Panic.

All while looking to tax the solar panels that THEY deem you must put on your roof, and outlawing the use of propane or NG to heat your home or your water.

Fossil fuel prices WORLDWIDE especially natural gas are SKYROCKETING
    Renewables are dropping each year
Should Germany continue to plan to be 8% dependent on gas from Russia?

Besides electricity and heating demand, natural gas is an important feed stock and is used in the processing of chemicals, fertilizers, paper and glass, among other products.

futures for Natural gas rose above $5 per one million British thermal units, or mmBtus, for the first time since February, 2014.

So natural gas was higher before it became lower because of the USA’s fracking which is now suffering huge setbacks because banks are tired of financing fracking only to have the GOP lose elections and then the lunatic democrats get in office and shut all this stuff down leaving banks and billionaires holding the bag of hot air.

So banks won’t finance fracking. Awesome. Around the globe we have Russia and China and Iran developing a sweetheart deal with each other while Biden pretends his SANCTIONS will mean anything to Them. IN fact with a wave of a wand the USA could plummet into depression forcing the USA into dangerous ground.

To answer the moron’s question. Yes Germany and the rest of the world should plan on being 8 percent dependent upon Natural gas because billions of tons of goods are made with natural gas. Meaning they actually need to weave the gas into the product to make it, not just use it for energy to make something.

Another thing GRETA THE MORON doesn’t have a clue about and it seems neither does this Hairy person who makes silly and moronic comments apparently just to get a rise out of people.

If true, both are due to government interference. What’s your point?

    • Jl says:

Yes, John, that’s because the demand for fossil fuels is up. In the US that’s what happens when Brandon causes a situation where we have to rely on others for our energy.

Wait a minute !! Alan when I Google that it looks to me like they are not going to tax the panels instead they are going to reduce the tax incentives on residential panels. That would seem to be something you and Trach would be in favor if doing. And remember our electric costs are 1/3 from generation and 2/3s transmission/overhead/profits for a privately owned company always seeking higher profits for its shareholders. The cutting of tax incentives is hopefully going to spur development in battery technology. And don’t even mention nuclear. The cost of a new nuke is prohibitive. And if you could get permits no one would insure it unless you want/expect BIG GOVERNMENT to do it like under socialism.

Gee, you tell us Hairy since it was Trump who tried to shut down the pipeline from Russia to Germany and provide them with Natural gas instead, from the USA and the Middle east.

Instead, Biden said sure Russia go ahead. Then he stands up to Russia pretending his sanctimonious indignation will matter since he wants Russia to invade Ukraine to eliminate any possible way for his dealings and his son’s dealings with Ukraine to ever be fully exposed.
