US auctions off oil and gas drilling leases in Gulf of Mexico after climate talks
Just four days after landmark climate talks in Scotland in which Joe Biden vowed the US will “lead by example” in tackling dangerous global heating, the president’s own administration is providing a jarring contradiction – the largest ever sale of oil and gas drilling leases in the Gulf of Mexico.
The US federal government is on Wednesday launching an auction of more than 80m acres of the gulf for fossil fuel extraction, a record sell-off that will lock in years, and potentially decades, of planet-heating emissions.
The enormous size of the lease sale – covering an area that is twice as large as Florida – is a blunt repudiation of Biden’s previous promise to shut down new drilling on public lands and waters. It has stunned environmentalists who argue the auction punctures the US’s shaky credibility on the climate crisis and will make it harder to avert catastrophic impacts from soaring global heating.
“Coming in the aftermath of the climate summit, this is just mind boggling. It’s hard to imagine a more hypocritical and dangerous thing for the administration to do,” said Kristen Monsell, senior attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity. “It’s incredibly reckless and we think unlawful too. It’s just immensely disappointing.”
Unlawful? How so? It’s always been lawful in the past, why would that change, just because the Brandon admin hammered out an agreement that won’t ever be put in front of the US Senate?
Even Biden’s Democratic allies have raised concerns.
“This administration went to Scotland and told the world that America’s climate leadership is back, and now it’s about to hand over 80m acres of public waters in the Gulf of Mexico to fossil fuel companies,” said Raul Grijalva, chair of the House natural resources committee. “[The] lease sale is a step in the wrong direction, and the administration needs to do better.”

The sale represents a “huge climate bomb”, according to Earthjustice, one of the green groups that has lodged a lawsuit claiming it lacks a proper environmental assessment. Biden has set a target for the US to cut its emissions in half this decade before getting to net zero emissions by 2050.
A whistleblower is offering up information said to be related to data suppression, involving “missing ballots” in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, from the 2020 election.
Oh no, moans the left and particularly Elwood. Another story about election fraud. I know right. This is horrible.
Except.
Delaware County was the last county in the state to fully report its ballots for the 2020 election, and several races were in the scope of being flipped by a few thousand votes.
The lawsuit suggests an election machine shredded thousands of absentee and mail-in ballots, with the data corroborating it deliberately erased in the lead up to the right-to-know filing.
Several videos were released as part of the effort to corroborate the claims.
In the first video shared, Tom Gallagher, an attorney for Delaware County, appears to be throwing return ballots into a trash can in anticipation of the election data audit.
“At this point, I don’t want anybody to pick it up, and thinking we threw stuff away,” Gallagher says in the video. “We’re going to have a little campfire going.”
But wait. These races in question were the Democrats possibly flipping GOP seats. This is a district that Trump won and that many Republicans won and yet votes were discarded or so it is alleged.
This information was given to the DA and he did nothing. Again. If you scaremonger people to silence then you end up with a ruling class of elites that are capable of bullying their way to whatever conclusion they want. The Rittenhouse trial is a classic example. This jury is not sequestered and so they are able to understand what is going on in the outside world. Threats of torching the town if they vote to acquit.
I watched a video of movers and shakers on the left getting together and railing against the Woke Mobs for 3 hours the other day. These are leftists. Not right. Not Conservatives but moderate leftists who have been voting for a (D) for quite some time but beginning with Trump they stopped because the MSM exposed themselves.

They are banking on the old Axiom that people would rather be safe than free. The problem is that freedom comes with a cost and more and more people are willing to pay that cost because they understand where this is leading. Authoritarian governments around the world.
Trump is no exception. He still to this day pounds his chest and proclaims I brought you these vaccines. He was booed in an Alabama rally and yet he stubbornly holds on to the I built this mantra. This is why I think if he runs he should run for a congress seat, be voted speaker of the house, and let another GOP win the white house.
