How’s that green electric grid working out in California, what with them replacing all the reliable coal, natural gas, and nuclear power generation with solar and wind? And pushing everyone to get an electric vehicle?
California Asks Residents to Avoid Charging Electric Cars Amid Power Grid Strain
California’s power grid operators have asked the state’s residents to conserve electricity in order to put less strain on the power grid amid a major heat wave.
The Epoch Times reported that the California Independent System Operator (ISO) told residents numerous times in the past week to voluntarily conserve energy, even asking them on social media to avoid charging electric vehicles during peak usage times.
The ISO also said residents should avoid “use of large appliances and turning off extra lights,†and wrote that “[T]his usually happens in the evening hours when solar generation is going offline and consumers are returning home and switching on air conditioners, lights, and appliances.â€
This is happening as the federal government and certain state governments, including California’s, are looking to change their respective fleets to electric vehicles. California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom announced last fall that 2035 would be a target date for ending the sale of petroleum-powered vehicles in the state, saying that in 15 years, “zero-emission vehicles will almost certainly be cheaper and better than the traditional fossil fuel powered car.

Here’s one nice feature of cars with internal combustion engines and power plants that run on natural gas: they work when the sun goes down and the wind isn’t blowing. California has already run into a need for rolling blackouts during the summer months before. The state burns through a tremendous amount of energy on any given day and they are nowhere near the point where they can come close to meeting that demand solely through green energy.
Nope, nope, this is what Californians wanted. Now they can deal with it. And no moving from California. Live what you voted for.

Poor Hairy, he doesn’t realize what he is saying. If one goes to the Duke Energy site and looks at their plan to be “carbon neutral” by 2050, he’d see that their plan includes increasing nuclear power.
Hairy hates the very thing Duke Energy is doing yet tries to extol them as a model for “carbon neutrality.”
But as Hairy hates staying on topic, he won’t address the fact that electric cars can’t run without electricity and that is what California is lacking. He hates facts.
Another thing Hairy won’t address is that 1 in 5 current owners of electric cars say they will not buy them again. Hairy hates that statistic as well as he demands that people buy electric cars that sit in garages because they cannot run.
But rising energy costs won’t affect Hairy as he stays in his mother’s basement. (Of course rising electricity costs affect the middle and poor the most, but he doesn’t care about that.) As long a Hairy gets his pizza rolls, he will hate everything and everyone else.
After all, all the left has is hate.
If the Pyrite State does not want you to recharge your Chevy Dolt during ‘peak usage hours,’ which are in the evening, when dad has returned from a hard day at the office, has his shoes off and his feet put up on the ottoman while his lovely stay-at-home wife cooks dinner for the family. The air conditioner is humming, the electric range is burning kilowatts, the television is on, etc.
Now Father, who Knows Best, has parked his Tesla in the garage, the door of which he opened and closed using electricity, but, knowing that the Pyrite State wants him to not charge it then, he has not plugged it in. He’ll wait until bedtime, right?
But California is the land of long commutes and traffic jams on highways, and using a 220 volt, 30 amp level 2 charger, he gets only about 25 miles of range per hour of charge. So, instead of having a full charge when he leaves at 6:45 AM. His 45 mile commute, well he ought to be OK, ’cause he’d have added 175 miles to his battery.
Of course, he has to run the air conditioning, ’cause he can’t get to work having sweated up his Tuesday grey pin striped suit, right? Then there’s that f(ornicating) wreck on the beltway, slowing traffic down to a crawl.
Our hero, we’ll call him Jim Anderson, does make it back home in the evening, but just barely: he creeps into the garage with 14 miles to spare. His dutiful wife, Margaret, has once again fixed the family a delicious, wholesome and nutritious meal.
After Margaret asks him how his day went, the very chipper Jim tells her all about it, and then sits in the living room to dispense his sage advice to their children, “Princess, “Bud, and “Kitten.”
Good thing Margaret is a stay-at-home mother, because if she worked, too, they would never be able to keep up charges on two electric cars!
HAHAHAHA! As if virtue signaling EV owners would permit any government “suggestions” to limit their lifestyle. Gays wouldn’t stop promiscuous ButSeks when it was a death sentence. Hollywood people still wash their cars when their water reservoirs are at record lows. John Kerry still flys private jets to “climate summits”.

The USA opened a new Nuke station in 2016 and has 2 more coming on line in by 2022 in Georgia.
The interesting thing about this is that if the government mandates carbon trading, Nuke plants become ATMs for investors since they have zero carbon emissions.

Which one is it? Do you hold them as a paragon of what you claim to believe? Or are they evil for for doing what you hate?

The costs of nuclear power plants is high because people like you want them to be high and sue to stop them. Arguably, the damage to the environment by so called “renewables” (which is a violation of the laws of physics) is greater than you realize, but your knowledge of these topics is limited at best.
Look, we all get it. You don’t want cheap, consistent energy. You want people to pay more because when it comes down to it, you hate the poor and middle class.
